*She could see her prey converging up ahead, darting uncertain looks this way and that. She flashed a grin as one of them spotted her, and the whole gaggle ran shrieking. Laughing low in her throat, she gave chase, bounding past to cut them off. They scattered, then, fleeing in a half-dozen directions. Oh, she could only chase one at a time, to be sure, and she did; she'd bring the fastest down first, making the rest easier by default. She couldn't help herself--she was enjoying this too much to stay silent. A gleeful growl started low in her throat, rising to become a menacing laugh.*

GrrrRAHAHAA! I'm the dreaded leaf-monster, and I'm going to EAT YOU ALL!

*The Girl Scouts shrieked again, in laughter and mock-terror and delight, as she lunged for the flag dangling from one girl's belt. Her own costume of sticks and leaves rustled with every move, making stealth a challenge and rewarding the keener-eared girls. Her quarry was almost within reach, her fingers poised to grasp, when two of the bolder girls tackled her from the side,
