Ali watches the commercial with some amusement. When it ends, she asks, "So what colors does it come in?"

Dark gray or... dark gray. The microfibers don't bond well to pigments.

"So even the future doesn't have designer colors? Ah well. Henry Ford would approve."

Oh, most things can come in any color you'd like. Just not things like carbon-titanium microfibers, or they wouldn't be as strong.

*A beat passes.*

Who?

"He invented the way factories make things in a line, where one person puts one thing on the car, then the car moves down to the next person, and so on. I think. He was one of the first people to sell cars the average person could afford, and famously said of the first line he made that it could come in any color you like--so long as the color you like was the one color they had. And I swear, Samus, next semester you're taking a history class with me."

Ah. That makes sense, then.

*She smirks at Ali's vow of education. Not that she's going to turn it down, but it can't go unchallenged.*

Oh? And will you take some class in my Facet, as well?

That challenge is very likely not working as Samus expected.

Ali perks up at the idea, eager and excited now. "Oh, can I? What should I take? And where?"

*That wasn't quite the reaction Samus was expecting, no.*

Well, if you like, we can look for course catalogs for some of the better universities, see if there's anything that catches your interest.

Ali purrs, a very happy kitty now.

"Yes please!"

*She chuckles at that. It may be no bad thing her counterteasing backfired. Small loss. Picking up the pad, she closes the news feed she's been watching to call up a search for colleges, highlighting a few and opening up their class lists.*

Alright. What do you think you'd like to study?

Ali takes her time pouring over the class lists, reading the descriptions of dozens of courses before narrowing the field. They're all so interesting!

"I'm torn. All the art classes sound fun--well, the ones without safety warnings anyway. I don't want to have to sign a waiver in order to go to class. But the course on Pantuar poetry sounds good too. I've always wondered what sort of poetry cats would write if they weren't obsessed with bacon."

Bacon?

*Samus would very much like to hear the story behind that assertion.*

Pantuar poetry is nice. And you can always take more, later, if you want.

"You know, if you keep tempting me like this, I'll just give up on sleep altogether," she warns.

"Bacon. Davyn's crazy about it. He'll beg for hours. And he's a baconthief too, when he thinks nobody's watching."

Perhaps I should wait until you're done with your current courseload?

*Samus raises a brow. She thought he'd been after sausages.*

Wait? Nooooo! That makes Ali pout. "Tease."

You need to sleep. There's nothing wrong with pacing yourself, is there?
