[ Ariadne's network device turns on while pressed into some fabric, so it's rather hard to see anything. There are noises, however, adorable noises that sound remarkably like squeaks and purrs. Suddenly there's light and a rush of movement, the device being knocked over ( Read more... )

I applaud your timing.

[ He doesn't. But he does hold Pancake back from harassing the sudden... cheetah-fied architect. The dog just looks more confused than aggressive, at least. ]

[ There's an irritated mew and a flick of one ear at his comment, but Ariadne gets up and goes to try sniffing Pancake. Maybe he'll still know it's her. ]

[ Pancake's bum is wiggling in excess as Eames sits down, legs folded beneath him in lotus with the pup in his lap. The puppy licks at Cheetiadne's face, making excited keening noises. He suspects Rhada may not give such warm reception, already angry from their even more crowded living situation. ]

[ Ariadne was not actually expecting Pancake to lick her, and she jerks back slightly in surprise.

At least it wasn't a bite. She can work with this.

As it is, her current small size means that attempting to bond with Pancake -- which always makes her feel better -- is going to mean she has to crawl at least partially onto Eames's lap. She would retract her claws so that she doesn't scratch him, but as it turns out, cheetahs are unable to. Either way, the cub cautiously puts her two front paws on his leg, leaning in to nuzzle Pancake's neck. ]

[ There's a twist to Eames' mouth that betrays his faint amusement, but he finally releases Pancake, leaning back on his hands. The puppy, fat as he is, doesn't really move from where he was holding him, but continues to lick happily at Ariadne's fur, yipping lightly, entire body vibrating with excitement. ]

Just what we all needed. More small animals to look after.

[ She could really, really do without the licking; Pancake doesn't have a rough tongue, so instead of getting clean, Ariadne just feels messy. Clearly she has to show him how actual licking is supposed to be done, and so she does.

As an afterthought, she lightly sinks her claws into Eames's leg to get revenge for that comment. ]

[ He moves his leg a bit in discomfort to dislodge her with a mild frown, otherwise gazing at the both of them quietly. ]

I assume this is going to be one of those twenty-four hour transformations, but it has every possibility of extending farther than that.

[ There's a pleased purr at the obvious discomfort, and then another nuzzle for Pancake.

... wait, what? That doesn't please her at all, and Ariadne pulls away from the dog to mew pathetically at Eames. ]

Arthur was a cat for an entire weekend, once.

Problem was, he kept his own body for the entire process.

[ His nose scrunches a bit at the unpleasant memory as he reaches out to nudge Ariadne's tiny nose with his index finger. ]

[ In the midst of trying to imagine this (did he purr and curl up in the sun?), Ariadne completely misses the finger coming toward her nose until it hits its target. She jerks her head back slightly in surprise before mewling at Eames, reaching up to playfully bat at his hand. ]

[ He purred, hissed, licked himself, the whole nine yards. But maybe that's a story for after the fact. Grinning in a small way at her, he flicks her paw away, rubbing under her chin instead. ]

This is a lot less strange than Arthur's, though.

[ There's a slight squeak of protest as Eames flicks her paw away, but that is quickly stifled by the fact that he's rubbing under her chin. Oh. Oh, that feels wonderful, and it doesn't take long for her to start purring. She can barely even manage to tilt her head at his comment, enjoying the attention far too much. ]

[ Eames outright laughs at her, but indulges the scratches all the same. More to tease her with whenever she returns back to normal, anyway, being that he has no shame. This is far flung from working with one another on the job, but he thinks that they're incomparable anyway - Ariadne being, of course, a cheetah. ]

[ At the moment, she doesn't mind the laughter, far too content to curl up on his lap (sorry Pancake) and receive scritches. She's still purring, too; an utterly content little cub of gold and black spots, accented by the scarf around her neck. With her eyes shut, it's hard to tell, but they're the same sort of big brown eyes Ariadne uses in her favor more often than not. ]

[ Pancake is excited, but after awhile grows either bored or distracted and rolls off of Eames' lap to trot off elsewhere - the kitchenette, or to find Arthur, whichever. Eames occupies his fingers with Ariadne's fur, though it's hard to consider her in the same scope, as tiny and as soft as she is, gently rolling her onto her back to rub his fingers on her belly.

Eames is 87% a cat person, anyway. Blame Yusuf. ]

[ Most felines protest being rolled onto their back, but Ariadne is enjoying the scritches too much -- and besides, she's not a feline, not really. Physically, yes, but a majority of her mind is still human. She trusts Eames not to attempt to break her neck in this form, if nothing else, and is rewarded for it with tummy rubs. Her little paws are held up, but she doesn't bat at him, though she thinks it would be fun if he'd let her. ]
