Huber loved my Converses and the "accent" of the green undershirt. LeTellier, not so much. But he gave me a 100% for the night anyway.
Gross's speech was universal. I thought Rob Hayden's was the best. He talked about the "train of life", ironic because his name is the Roo-Roo Train. Consequently, the seniors shouted ROO ROO and chugga chugga chugga ROOROO at the end of his speech.
Kim and Vicky's Alma Mater was gorgeous. Basically it was acapello with Kim soloing in the background.
Kimmy Miller's valedictorian speech was great. I thought of her as being quite and kind of nervous. Last night, she was making everyone laugh with her girly voice and well placed jokes.
Kim's speech was great as well. She spoke of how people have their own personal niches, as hers is jazz saxophone. She said that she wasn't going to give a speech on the blues scale or progressive chords but she wanted to use herself as an example for something found with everyone.
It was truly rewarding to be there to hear all of them. It gave me insight and hope for next year.
However, last night was the final performance I would ever share with Mr. John LeTellier. We all realized this when we striking the stage of all the stands and instruments. We all gathered and made our remarks on how great it was to have him for the past two years and how we would all miss him. When I spoke to him and gave him a hug, he said he would still be in contact with me through music theory. I just cast my eyes downward and told him " yeah, I guess." Apparently my parents have yet to inform him of our decision not to carry on with music theory, its just way to expensive.
After finals, the class of 2007 are officially seniors. Let's not mess a beautiful thing up.
