last night the power went out sometime around 2am. the entire block was dark. i watched the lights go out in the highrise buildings across the block. garrett when out to see and he said it was dark for blocks...all the way to the park. it had been totally quit before the power outage...but as soon as the lights when out, there were sirens, people yelling. you could here my neighbors closing doors and stomping around in the halls or upstairs. it was strange to look out the window to a whole segment of the cap hill area completely dark. i saw someone in the highrise sara used to live in carrying a flashlight out to their balcony. i saw a light candle in the window of the top floor.
it's odd how these people shake at the darkness. it was primal.
it was only sad the downtown lights were brighter than the moon.
