"C'mon! Major Miles, anybody?  What hell happened here?!  This place looks like a fricken war zone!  I don't even recog....I don't recognize it."

But, all larger questions of "where" aside, I'm in kind of an open area, um, like a plaza I guess. Uh, there's an old fountain too. Does that give you any clues?
