Half the people watching TV tonight saw the making of a child soldier on Lost. What bothers me is that most of them think that was an exaggeration, or that it doesn't happen very often. Then as the show progressed the soldier is redeemed, which bothers me even more. In real life they kill, suffer and then die. Few are ever able, or desire after their indoctrination, to return home. I get so disappointed and frustrated. How can so many people just lack any empathy? I know I can be a whiny bitch on livejournal sometimes, but that's what it's for. I am deeply grateful for my life, and deeply empathetic for those who are suffering. I just want to scream at people. What are you doing? How can you know so little? How can you be so selfish?
