The Kids Are All RightAm I the only one who thought it a bit unfortunate, that Nic the hardworking lesbian could easily have been replaced with Nick the infertile man and apart from a few lines, nothing would really have changed that much? For a movie about a rainbow family, the gender's felt sort of stereo-typicial - booksmart, good girl who hasn't ever even kissed, her younger brother who is into sports, and of course, it's the stay-at-home birth-mother lesbian who has an affair with a man...

VexilleAnimation not nice, and one of these days, Japan really has to stop destroying itself in cyberpunk stories...

CreationAlright. Not great, but alright.

Technotise - Edit i jaAnd the lesson is: don't use superadvances memory chips to cheat at your exam or you might accidentally wind up with an AI literally growing inside of you. The animation isn't that great, but the story is good, and there's the sheer novelty factor of watching a cyberpunk story set in Serbia

St. Trinian's 2 - the Legend of Fritton's GoldNot as fun as the first, but still good - besides, pirates! Even if the villains were a bit - an ancient evil secret organization dedicated to male chauvanism lead by David Tennant? Seriously?

Lark Rise to Candleford season 3.
Is it odd, that my favourite character in this series is Thomas, the very Christian postman? While Laura and Dorcas are beginning to bore me, and as for Laura's father, well, he comes across as a hypocrite a bit too often for my liking...

Fucking ÅmålI was kind of expecting more. I mean, yes, very sweet, but come on - everything I've heard and that's it?
71.
Punisher - WarzoneMostly not particularly inspired, but at least it wasn't an origin story - which btw is something I miss, among all the recent superhero movies. They are almost all of them origin stories - and yes, I get it, origin stories are good introduction points and usually epic tales in their own right, but sometimes, I'd just like to watch a superhero movie where the hero already is a hero, thank you...
72.
X-men - First ClassThis summer is one of good superhero movies, isn't it? And I know everybody has talked about the issues with race and women and how it's problematic that at the end, all the ones standing side with Magneto, but frankly, I liked that. I find that Xavier's side of tolerating the intolerant majority is harder and harder to defend, really - I mean, he obviously means well, but dammit, it's hard to be sympathetic towards people throwing missiles at the people who just averted a major crisis...

PenelopeI watched this for Peter Dinklage and actually fully expected it to be cringe-worthy. Surprisingly, it wasn't - just a sweet little comedy, that mostly left me wondering why everybody made that big a deal out of the heroine's slightly unfortunate shaped nose, because seriously, it's not that bad...

Blast from the PastMaybe not great art, but I kind of like past-to-present fish out of temporal water plots, so this was fun.

Supernatural season 6.
I actually liked this season. Everybody was fucked up and was unable to look past their own issues, Crowley was being sneaky and villainious behind the scenes, the Winchester's never actually got beyound their own drama unless somebody shouted at them, Cas was unexpectedly sneaky, even Balthasar turned out fun. And I'm looking forward to season 7, because they have a starting point with such potential - Cas being God - so, probably serving Cas or else/hunting ghosts/leaders of La Resistance/save Cas from himself - plenty of story to work with there. And I'll just keep my fingers crossed for Gabriel returning, because it made sense for him not to be brought back in season 6 - an friendly archangel would have quite messed up the whole Cas-getting-in-over-his-head plotline, but he'd be an awesome semi-regular character to be brought back to life to help the boys, wouldn't he? After all, surely Chuck has an opinion on the whole Cas-as-lovecraftian-outer-god situation?

The Sorcerer's ApprenticeRight, we need to put a stop to these constant remakes of the same plot - young male loser gets selected for something super-special, despite showing no actual talent for it, yet somehow still manages to save the world - I am tired of it. Sometimes, I wonder if it's just one script getting recycled. Nicolas Cage was actually entertaining enough, the special effects were nice and the villains villainious - just, please, for once, somebody kill the young male loser character? Please?

Boston Legal season 5.
Alan and Denny are just the most adorable platonic couple I've seen - though actually, season five was maybe just a bit much. Not the wedding, but just, generally - then again, I've noticed a tendency among a lot of series that are obviously very aware of their bromance content to not actually be as good as the ones from before, the ones that just had epic friendships.
78.
Transformers - Dark of the MoonBetter than the second - though frankly, I spent most of the move wishing for a nice, gory end to Sam. And instead, he got to kill Starscream. Poor Starscream, such an ignoble death...
79.
Terminator - the Sarah Connor Chronicles season 2.
Why is it always the good series they stop too soon and the bad ones they keep giving extra seasons long after every initial virtue they had has long since faded? Why didn't they give this one an extra season? I mean, even Brian Austin Green was good in it? (I am coming to the conclusion that I enjoy fantastic genre stories where everybody are fucked up and the story actually acknowledges this.)

Bandit QueenYou know, I'm beginning to think I need to steer clear of Indian movies that isn't Bollywood, because so far, all I ever seem to wind up watching is movies about how horrible, terrible, not-good it is to a woman in rural India at various times - and that might or might not be accurate enough, but it's a bit like those documentaries about dogs and cats getting skinned alive in China - yes, it's horrible, but I don't actually feel a need to see it, you know?

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - part twoA decent farewell - admittedly, sometimes it felt rushed and confusing, and sometimes it felt like it went on for too long, but overall? A very decent farewell.
