Jack is back!!!
Guess who just came home from watching a preview of Pirates of the Caribbean - On Stranger Tides.
Jack! Competent Jack! Canny, sneaky, crazy, planning Jack!
Lt. Commander Groves! Wigless Groves! Warning - highlight to read: character death! OMG Groves Oh no they didn't.(I think - it's a teeny bit hard to tell without the wig on, actually. No, definitely Groves. Please contradict me. Please? Somebody?)
Mermaids! That actually come across as dangerous for a change!

Barbossa! Peglegged Barbossa! With new hobby.
Jack kissing Jack. Jack and Barbossa jumping into bed together.
Philip the missionary! Being neither with nor against! And I want Philip/Blackbeard slash. Please?
Also: Blackbeard! Ian McShane is awesome! As expected, but still - he is an awesome, awesome villain.
Blackbeard's feisty daughter - quite fun - I just wish love interests didn't have a tendency to be nearly-copies of the lead - come on, people, opposites attract! That said, oh, nice "I am with child" "I've never been that drunk" Oh. I actually kind of like her.
And finally: the Pearl! Oh, no.
And the end - Jack getting the Pearl back - well, sort of. And Barbossa gets his hat!!!
Sadly, I did not stay until the end of the credits - I have bad experiences with Danish cinemas not bothering to show after credits scenes, so I don't bother anymore. That said, while there are certainly room for more and tales untold (like what the mermaid does with Philip or how Jack manages to free the Pearl) - truthfully?
It could end here. I'd be alright with that. :-)
