Something occured to me.
Now, in the beginning the mists became Ymer, right, and after he got done having the world's kinkiest foot-sex, he got killed by Odin + brothers. Then, they made the world out of his dead body, turning his hair into the trees and forests.
Now, fast forward - Odin and a couple of other Aesir are out walking, find a couple of fallen trees, carve in them a bit and give them life - the first humans, ladies and gentlemen, Ask and Embla. (And even later Heimdal stops by, creating class society by way of three times threesomes (somehow avoiding getting splinters anywhere because that would be too embarrasing), because it's that sort of mythology, but nevermind).
Only. Ymer was the first jotun and his various bodyparts were independently capable of producing baby jotuns. The first humans were made out of his hair. So.
Does that mean humans are really just a subtype of jotun? (In which case, I want my shapeshifter powers! And my jetpack! ;-))
