New Orleans
I love New Orleans. I don't know if it is just the spirit of the city itself that draws me to it, or the fact that my father spent so much time there, and I feel a strong connection to him when I am there. Probably a combination.
Things I did last weekend in New Orleans (with 4 of my friends):
- Drank a LOT of beer
- Drank a LOT of rum based drinks
- Probably gained about 30lbs from the above mentioned alcohol, and all the delicious food
- Watched 2 Texas basketball games
- Took a Haunted History tour (I recommend it, especially if Bill is your guide)
- Took the Canal St. Streetcar all the way to the Cemeteries and back
- Took the St. Charles Streetcar to Tulane, walked around, then took it back
- Witnessed a car accident
- Got a speeding ticket
- Got beignets and cafe au lait at cafe du monde
- ate bread pudding
- walked a lot (I've missed walking in a city so much!)
- danced in the street
There was a lot more to our trip than those things, but those are the brief highlights.
