I found this wonderful little story through an answering comment to my request for Due South/SGA crossover stories over at sgagenrefinders. And it leaped up the ranks in my favorites so fast, I just have to comment on it. Here's my reaction to it: (I know this story is dated 2004, and perhaps you lost interest in the fandom by now, but still)
First and foremost: That summary is evil! You should have put a "do-not-drink/eat-anything-while-reading" warning before that summary. It's a health hazard :P
2) What the hell species is Benton Fraser?
That's what everybody wants to know. Alas, the "Due South" series could not provide an answer to that. I suspect Asgard experimentation. Or perhaps the Ancients? Though with his stunts, he's Kryptonian? :)
3) Up until the sentence: Actually, Jack thought the wolf seemed far more laissez-faire. I was laughing hysterically. And if I afterwards calmed down a little, I still couldn't wipe that grin off my face. (Even though usually I *really* don't like the Jack/Daniel pairing.)
4) Your description of "The Fraser Effect", Jack's thought process, Fraser being acknowledged as incorruptable by even the Prime Minister, all that was so spot on it was eerie, as well as hilarious. Did I mention the whole thing is hilarious? It bears repeating. :)
5) Other parts I just loved (aside from the first ~500 words) -- Jack wondered if maybe Fraser actually was the only other refugee from Plant Daniel they’d ever found.
And Kowalski knowing that at the end of the day, Fraser is his and therefore enjoying the show and not really worrying? Priceless.
Too bad it was so short, this should have been epic length for maximum entertainment.
