End of the war :)
For those of you that don't know, i'm a Zionist Jew with many links to Israel.
When i learnt that 2 Israeli soldiers had been kidnapped and 8 killed i was like most people in the world, this was an invasion of sovereign Israeli territory and i was sure that Israel would do anything to get them back.
I was so suprised with the invasion of Lebanon simply because i thought the Israeli's would negoitiate for their return.
I'm not an evil person, in no way do i ever or have ever rejoiced in the death of my fellow human beings and like the rest of the world i was saddened by the loss of life on both sides though i'm going to be honest I felt more for one Israeli death then i did for 10 Lebanese...does that make me a bad person or have i simply been dehumanised by the violence throughout my lifetime???
But....now the war is over, there is a UN resolution (UN SC R 1701) but i don't think that it will do much to solve the problem. The root cause is Hezbollah and i'm not going to insult anyone's intelligence by saying that if Israel had destroyed Hezbollah then there would be peace, to use an old analogy...we must cut of the head of the rabid dog...in this case, the dog has 2 heads: Iran and Syria.
