Character's Name: Limone (Some sources spell it Rimone but it sounds like Limone so I'll be using that.)
Series: Simoun
Timeline: Episode 16, after completing the Emerald Ri Maajon with Dominura and disappearing.
Canon Resource Link: Wikipedia has a fairly in-depth summary of the series. For the sake of clarity and thoroughness, the personality section below contains some history and info as necessary.
Personality: Limone is one of the "sibyllae", or priestesses, who fly airships called Simoun. On her world, all people are born female, and choose a permanent sex when they become an adult at the age of 17. Only girls who have not yet chosen a sex are capable of flying the Simoun. Traditionally, the priestesses flew the Simoun in order to offer prayers to their god in the form of symbols called Ri Maajons. During the time of the series, however, their country is at war, and the destructive powers of the Simoun are their primary defense.

All her life, Limone had always just done what she was told without question. Her natural talent was quickly picked up on by her parents and commanders, and when they told her to aim higher and become a great Simoun pilot, she did so without considering what she really wanted. Allowing herself to be led like this, she soon found herself accepted into the high ranked Chor Tempest at a mere twelve years old, easily the youngest sibylla in history. She was given special exception partly out of necessity caused by the war, and partly because Limone was a flying prodigy by her own merits. Her talent for drawing Ri Maajons was so great that even the older and more experienced sibyllae couldn't keep up with her, and she was sometimes bullied and scolded for being a cocky upstart. During the time she was a cadet, however, there was an accident in which her copilot was killed. It was never clear whether Limone made an overconfident mistake or if the other pilot made the error while struggling to keep up with her. Either way, the incident left a deep impression on the young girl, and from that point on she became even more dependent on others to make her decisions, as well as unconsciously suppressing her talent for piloting.

Most of the time, Limone is very quiet and stoic, keeping to herself and staying out of the way. She is rather shy, especially around strangers, and doesn't speak up about her feelings very often. She has always done what she was told and early on she relies on everyone else to tell her what to do in every situation, seemingly unable or unwilling to make any decisions by herself. When questioned about her preferences on anything, her response was always a timid "I don't know." Then she meets Aaeru, a confident, decisive girl who refuses to tell her what to do and forces her to make her own decisions. Limone looks up to Aaeru like a big sister, and through her encouragement finds strength to start choosing things for herself, which she starts doing more and more as the series goes on. By the end she has become a determined person who follows her own desires and thinks deeply before making decisions instead of letting others lead her along. In fact, she begins to almost comically over think the simplest of emotions - even her responses to everyday questions become well thought out introspections.

Another other important relationship that shaped Limone's character is the one with Dominura, her Simoun copilot, or "pair." Simoun pairs are traditionally chosen based on who naturally works well together, and only if both parties agree to the partnership. The pair relationship is considered very special and often forms into a deep friendship. Dominura is a much older sibylla who had been working behind the scenes with agents of their country's government. She was sent to join Chor Tempest in an attempt to help them regain their elite status, and she quickly focused her attention on cultivating Limone's skill. At first, Dominura simply encouraged Limone to release her suppressed talent by pushing her directly. For a while they clashed over this, because Limone had started following Aaeru's lead, making her own decisions and rejecting Dominura's forceful orders. As time went on, however, they got used to working together and began to trust each other more.

Around this time, Aaeru asks Limone once if she likes Dominura. In trying to become a more self-reliant person, Limone takes the question to heart and tries to figure out how she really feels about the older woman. Soon after, Dominura experiences a mental breakdown that causes her to question her purpose. Deeply concerned, Limone reassures her that she has a purpose in being her pair. Limone finally confesses that she does like Dominura, and wants to draw a sacred Ri Maajon just for her. Dominura is moved by this, and expresses the same desire. From then on, their relationship quickly becomes very close and affectionate, falling somewhere between that of lovers or a mother and child.

Beneath the timid exterior lies a strong heart. Once she has thrown aside her fear of going against authority, Limone reveals that she can be very stubborn and capable of standing up for herself. She keeps up a serious, mature attitude in public, which is only partly honest. She tries to act older than she is, dismissing games as childish and refusing to admit when she's scared. In reality, though, she's still a little kid at heart, and is often overwhelmed by her circumstances. Still, she is rather grown-up for her age, and though the older girls tend to baby her she doesn't have a problem going along with it. She doesn't openly go out of her way to be nice, but she is compassionate and considerate of other's feelings. At one point, an older girl is frightened by a storm but embarrassed to admit it. Limone uses her age as an excuse, pretending to be scared and crawling into the girl's bed to comfort her.

Though she gives the impression of being humorless, she will let her guard down around friends to play around and can still be caught teasing others in her deadpan way. She was sometimes bullied for being cocky and stuck-up, and deep down she does feel slightly superior to the other sibyllae because of her skill - when she first meets them, she's disappointed that they don't live up to their elite reputation. She's hardly stuck-up, however, because she doesn't flaunt it or mean anything bad by it; she's simply aware of her incredible talent. A very quiet child, she is also highly intelligent. She enjoys reading by herself in her spare time and can often be found in ship's grand library. She also has a massive sweet tooth and can almost always be found snacking on some kind of treat.

What your character can offer: Limone has no supernatural powers, save the ability to pilot the Simoun airships. She is a genius prodigy at piloting and navigation, but this will obviously not come into play in-game. She is still very intelligent and talented, however, with good instincts and a strong will. Also, she's very adorable.
What items will they be bringing with them? Only her clothes, a sibylla uniform, and Rodoreamon's doll that she carried into the last battle with her.

Third-Person Sample: The world was in chaos. The buzzing motors of the Argentum planes, the blasts of explosions and the patter of bullets combined with the rushing of wind and crackle of energy, becoming louder and louder into a deafening roar of sound. The light of the Emerald Ri Maajon shone blindingly all around them, and at first Limone had to close her eyes against it. But there inside the Simoun, the noise and the light seemed to fall away, leaving a sense of calm in its wake. In an instant, Limone's entire world had shrunk down to the tiny cockpit. The readings on the panel that had been going haywire just a moment before were all frozen now, and for some reason it didn't seem strange at all. Her hand pulled back from the controls - there was no need to hold on. The power of the prayer carried them, floating motionless in the air, the wheels of the motor humming still.

Her arms tightened around the doll she had taken from Rodoreamon's bed. It was strange...even now, as they hovered at the center of the storm, all she could think was that she felt bad that she wouldn't have a chance to return it. She hoped the other girl would not be mad.

'Limone...'

Dominura's voice seemed to echo in her mind, but no sound came from her lips. The thought was soft and gentle, and Limone couldn't have questioned it if she wanted to. It seemed the most natural thing to her, in that moment, to hear the woman speaking directly to her heart. After all, they were a pair.

'Dominura?' She reached out with her own mind, not hesitant for once. She knew Dominura would answer.

'I'm not afraid.'

Limone rested her head on top of the plush toy, a feeling of peace washing over her. She knew what they had done was dangerous. No one in this world knew what awaited them on the other side of that blinding light. But for the first time in her life, it was something Limone had chosen for herself. No overbearing parent had forced her to choose Dominura as her pair. No uncaring commander had ordered her to draw this prayer. She looked inside her heart, and could find no regret for her actions. This was what she wanted. What she really, truly wanted, for the first time, and no one could take that away. She had done it for herself, and for the woman who had become so dear to her. It felt good, and it felt right. 'No, I'm not afraid at all.'

Was it her imagination? Or could she really feel her partner's presence as though she were sitting right beside her? The very structure of the ship that separated them seemed to fall away with the sound. 'We're together.'

'Together.'

The next words came from the cockpit behind her, ringing clear in her ears. A smile spread across Limone's face, and she could picture Dominura's face smiling back at her with no trace of doubt. "Together. Always."

The glow from the Simoun gem was as warm and safe as the doll she held, and as it grew outwards, pulling them in, Limone could have sworn she felt the touch of Dominura's hand on her own.

"Yes, always!"

First-Person Sample: [The feed begins with a silent view of Discedo's streets. At the edge of the screen a young girl can be seen nearby, huddled on the ground and clutching a large, and rather ugly, doll that's almost bigger than she is. She looks around, clearly distressed, before calling out.]

Dominura? Dominura!

[She shakily climbs to her feet, shivering in the cold air.]

The Emerald Ri Maajon...it worked. I know it did. I knew we could do it together. But, this place is...

[She trails off, then cups a hand around her mouth and shouts into the emptiness, calling out for her companion several more times. More silence greeted her.]

Dominura...where did you go? We're a pair. We were supposed to be together always...

[She walks around the area for a few minutes without noticing the communicator, before sinking to the ground again, hugging the doll tightly and trying not to cry.]

What...do I do...?
