The best LOTR experience yet...
Hi all, long time no see :)
I was at a music festival this weekend (Greenday, New Order, Audioslave, The Killers, James Brown etc. -all amazing!) But at our campsite we had a huge screen, and they showed the LOTR trilogy on the Friday night. It was amazing because the crowd were so into it. Every time the Fellowship did something hero-ish, everyone whooped and cheered, and there were big theatrical hisses for the orcs and Saruman. We spent the whole night like that, about 20,000 people reacting to the movies in a way PJ would have loved. It was wonderful, the best LOTR viewing yet. Many people hadn't seen it before, so listeningto their friends attempting to give drunken descriptions of the plot was hilarious...
'You see, there was this king, but he died, and then there was no king, so Boromor, er, Boromir's dad became ruler...or maybe it was Boromir's dad's great grandad, I dunno. But that geezer who catches fire, he's, like, the ruler, but not the king. Oh yeah, and I forgot to tell ye, there's this ring thing, and a Dark Lordy, and....man, just watch the film...'
The good news is that I have a job again. The bad news - it's in a kid's clothes shop. Anyone who even vaguely knows me knows that I don't like kids -annoying little rugrats -I don't have a maternal bone in my body. So this isn't the ideal job. But money is money (LOL)
My goals for the summer were to learn Russian, relearn some German, make some money, write more, and read lots of good books. Well, I have started learning the Russian, it's fun. And I'm so excited that Half-blood Prince is out in mere hours (almost!) Still sticking to my theory that Colin Creevy is the HBP. And Sirius is not dead -no body, no proof!
