Okay. I have not updated in a while, have I? Here goes.
Well winter break started on the 23rd. I went out with my neighbors on the night before Christmas eve and ate yakiniku (meat you get to grill yourself at the table!) and we found a actual espresso bar that was having a pseudo-concert that night for the holidays. They served tasty (but oddly, lettuce-filled) hot dogs too!
On Christmas eve, I accidentally overlsept and missed Christmas eve church. :-( That night (again with the neighbors) we had a traditional KFC Christmas set and exchanged presents. :-D
Christmas day we had people over, watched movies, ate spaghetti or curry or something and I made egg nog! It was hard to beat all the egg whites and the cream by hand, but the egg nog was tasty in the end so it was worth it. Not to mention I had to burn off some calories before I had something as rich as eggnog!
I worked on the 26th and 27th by going and making Christmas visits to the home of students who are studying English. The kiddies were cute and all into the whole Christmas thing. We played games on English and took Christmas pictures and all.
For New years I was in Tokyo from the 30th to the 2nd. :-D My travelling companions were not exactly stellar, but I had a blast with Thetruezekiah and her host family! They were incredibly gracious. On New Years Day they had me over adn we had osechi(new years bento), tasty umeshu ( plum sake), and coffee. Her host mom then proceeded to dress us up in kimono and we all went ot the neighborhood shrine! w00t!
All that and Thetruezekiah had already shown me Yokohama's Chinatown and met me at Tokyo Station and helped me find the hotel I would be staying at all that jazz. :-)
Then I came home the second. I worked on my holiday homework and cleaned my apartment from top to bottom. hm...did karaoke one night and got the new Gwen Stefani CD. I worked again with kids on the 6th and got food poisoning on the night of seijin no hi(adults day), and missed school on the next day consequently.
whew.
been in class since then and goin to a mochi party on Saturday.
