So I had an interesting thought today about how people look at life and I came up with an idea that categorizes different outlooks into 2 categories, of course with some people breaking the mold and being a little bit of both.
Number One person: Thinks about what they want in life based on what the circumstances around it allow for.
Example #1: Should I have children in the future? This person would answer: Depends on my financial stability, physical capabilities, where I am in life, is my partner a good parental figure, etc etc.
Example #2: How should I go about continuing my education after highschool? This person would answer: Well, I know I want to be a pharmacist. But I am working full time right now in order to keep an apartment and vehicle, so school will wait a little while.
Number Two person: Thinks about what they want in life and then make the circumstances around it to be condusive to what they want.
Example #1: Do I want children in the future? Yes, I want children in the future. Therefore the person would make sure they start putting money in the savings account, buy a house with a few extra bedrooms, and take some parenting classes.
Example #2: How should I go about continuing my education after highschool? Well I want to be a pharmacist because it interests me, so I will go to the best pharmacy school in the country and work an entry level job at Rite-Aid, maybe having to take out some student loans.
I dont think that one is better than the other necessarily, but I wonder, which one are you? I definitely know which one I am. Also, are more Number One personalities men??
What do you all have to think about this idea?
