A recent email from my illustrious lab professor:

"Dear Vivian & Melissa:
I hope you are doing well!

Your are starting in the lab is in about 6 weeks, so I would like to recap
our discussion:

"1. You start the week after the finals and you stop the week before the
beginning of the Fall quarter.
2. your work in the lab is 5 days and on the weekend if the experiment
requires you to do so
3. You will have your own project to work on
4. You will do a presentation before in May (Vivian you already have done
so). Melissa please set up a date with Haison to present your project in
the next 2 -3 weeks.
5. Come to the lab ~ 4 hours/ week starting now to learn some of the new
techniques. Vivian you have already start doing so. Melissa work with
Haison on a day where you will be stopping by on weekly basis starting
next week.
6. You will get paid accordingly... Vivian you are already getting paid by
your funding.
7. At the end of the summer, you will put a nice presentation and also
write a report/ paper.

"Please let me know if you have any issues with the above points, I still
have other students that are interested in joining the lab."

No, your royal highness, I DON'T actually have ANYTHING to do AT ALL except for do YOUR dirty work so that way YOU can get tenure and I can get NO credit for my efforts. OF COURSE I'm JUMPING at the opportunity to be your slave, and I MORE than acknowledge the fact that serving your every need is a PRIVILEGE that I am SO lucky to have. I can't WAIT to have no summer!
