I locked my office door and headed down the deserted UCLA building's hallway. I was the last to leave, again. I turned off the light and put away my keys. Grabbed my breif case and I was off. Down a flight of stairs and then another into the second story to speak with the department head. To OK my plans. I got to the bottom flight and saw his door wide open.

I dropped my suit case and neared it slowly. I heard glass break and got out my stake from my back pocket. Living in Sunnydale caused you to do wacky things like take stakes with you to your teaching job...or future one. Tomorrow was my first class. I'd see all my kids and teach em architecture. Ah, the fun.

More things sounded like they fell and I poked my head around. Glass was everywhere from where there used to be a window. And a broken chair was laying on it's side, a leg pulled off almost like, someone knew how to kill a vampire.

I ran in stake raised and saw nothing. I heard a scuffle in his office at the back of the class and walked slowly. I heard a scream and then...something turned to dust. I changed my pace and ran but by the time I had gotten there the window was open and he was out of there. Whoever HE was. I returned my stake and walked out.

On my way downstairs I encountered the Department Head and said I was heading home. An apartment not far from here. He nodded and would return to hs ruined room. Well at least HE wasn't the vampire.

As I walked towards the car I couldn't help thinking that there was some sort of vampire hunter or activated Slayer. But I knew most in L.A. by now. I corresponded. A watcher of sorts if you will.

Ah whatever. The important thing was that the vampire was dead and I had classes tomorrow. Can you believe it? Alexander Lavelle Harris teaching architectual classes t UCLA. What is this world coming to?
