C_H_O_S_E_N
I finally managed to pull off a board and fell back. I frowned as I hit the sidewalk and looked up at the door I now saw, uncovered. I pulled on the handle and it pulled open. It didn't open all the way so I had to squeeze in. It was still light inside because of the many windows, but other then that it was darker then usual. Or, at least I thought so.
I began to walk but fell down a few stairs. "Ow." I said as I got up. Two falls in less then five minutes. I didn't like how this was going. I then tripped over an object and into a rounded off couch. I turned around and sat up. The book read, "Ancient Gods". Well, Angel Investigations musta been looking up ancient gods before they got to Wolfram and Hart.
I walked through and opened the double doors to a court yard like area in the middle of the hotel. There was a bench and everything. I decided to leave the front doors closed though. Just in case somebody noticed.
I walked back inside and laid down on the rounded off couch. No matter how I laid though my feet always dangled over the edge. It wasn't very comfortable. I decided to get up and do some investigation on the destruction of Wolfram and Hart. The computer at the desk had alot of dust and cobwebs. I brushed it all the way and booted it up. The green light came on and the Windows screen appeared.
I smiled and clicked the internet explorer button after all was good and loaded. The norton anti-virus kicked in so I had made my way into someone's former office and made old as time coffee. I first searched articles on Wolfram and Hart. One aticle talked about the suden earth quake and how the building couldn't withstand the shaking and fell to the ground. Another article talked about a bomb going off inside, police were investigating.
And then one final article on believeitornot.com. Explained the hordes of demons in an alleyway right outside of Wolfram and Hart and how this signaled the coming apocalypse. This being the world of Vampires and Slayers that was the one I believed to be true. I got off the computer, bookmarking the sights and decided to take a nap.
I miraculously ended up maneuvering myself to actually fit onto the sofa and then closed my eyes. While I was here, I'd find Angel. And maybe find my place in this world.
