There's someone-

[She turns the communicator on almost mid sentence, mid breath. Heavy footsteps can be heard.]

I- [She tries to speak or ask for help but the words don't come out. She takes a sharp breath and breathes out scared. The footsteps are heard to come closer and she seems to start running, crying out over her shoulder:] Please, stop ( Read more... )

[Hol stalks his prey, not quite sure why he's even doing such a thing. He had come across a young female, but the chance to talk and carry conversation never came. Instead, he simply walked right on up to her, fist raised and struck out in a punch.

With her down, he gave a harsh laugh and lunged at her once more.]

[To say Fuuka saw it coming would be the lie of the century; still, her first thought was that she should, have Juno should have warned her, she ought to have-

On the ground she turned and had barely a moment to stare up at him in disbelief before realizing he was about to strike again. She scrambled backwards-or tried to-hoping to avoid at least the worst of the blow, hoping to get back to her feet.]

[Never, would he go out of the way to strike a female. It was just plain rude! Though here he was, unsure of his own actions, trying to beat upon a helpless stranger.

As it was, he missed his initial grab, but found that his frame was quick to respond. Having caught himself... he stared down at this unknown person... and if for a moment paused. The look that crossed his face was something of an apology, before his eyes flashed red when he outright tried to tackle and pin her under his weight.]

[She's watched over enough fights, at least, to know a little, to be able to predict some moves. But at her size, with no combat experience, there's no way she can really-her eyes widen at the sudden change in expression, and she does something stupid: tries to reason with him instead of taking the three second advantage given.]

Wh-why are you doing this?

[Once again she tries to move away, but this time it's unlikely she could entirely succeed. She lifts her arms to cover her face, cringing, defensive, useless.]

[At last! She paused one second too late as finally tackled her. A sound, much like something one would give as a reply to something foolish, he raised a clenched fist and brought it down upon her.

On the inside, he was screaming, but on the outside he was seemingly to get some manner of twisted amusement of striking one so helpless.]

Why?... because I can...

[Though this was far too easy... he held still a moment, quite curious of how she would react.]

[She cried out at the hit, tried to block it with her hands, squeezing her eyes shut and terrified, now, all hopes of this being some sort of misunderstanding gone, still trying to cover her face with her arms, her palms up and fingers curled in in something too loose to be fists. Fighting back, or trying to, hadn't even occurred to her.

Because I can...? She didn't lower her arms but she opened her eyes, looking at him in pained disbelief for a moment. Then her expression became more resigned. There were people like that. She knew that very well. She swallowed, ignoring the pain in her head.]

Please... stop, please.

[She was asking him to stop, and while he never would've started such a one-sided fight to begin with, Hol simply laughed. It was here that he stood up, moving to grab her roughly by the front of her outfit.

The word 'please' was also used in her request. For a brief moment a look of shock crossed his features... and it faded quickly as he pulled his arm back and aimed directly to her face.]

[Standing like that - she tried to move away, futilely, saw the punch coming and raised her arms again to try and block it, a little too slow, too hesitant, to confused and unused to this situation, to any of it, and the hit comes down hard.

Does he let go as she attempts to fall backwards, is knocked backwards? If so, she'll have just enough presence of mind to stumble back a step or two, hand pressed over her throbbing eye, looking at him with the other in wide eyed disbelief. Stumbling back down again. This isn't going to stop, she realizes, trying to pick herself back up.]

[He did in fact, let go... almost pleased to see the stumble. One would say, that he was having fun with this. It was much like a game of cat and mouse... grim amusement.

At the small attempt to stand, Hol rushed in to strike once again. He brought his arm around in a wide arc to deal a strong blow... not caring where the punch landed.]

[She moves her arm up, elbow out, and does block it-in the sense that her arm takes the blow rather than her face. It's likely not a mistake (probably would have been worse if it had hit elsewhere), but her arm is suddenly on fire. Her arm had been bent out, triangular from her face; tense and already an uncomfortable angle, the hit slammed into it into her, the pain burning (and her arm hit her nose and now that was hurting, too) and she heard-or imagined-a sound as the blow dislocated her shoulder.

She cried out in pain, but it was more of a gasp, a shaky one. Her arm, her shoulder, burned with pain. Her nose. Her face. Her eyes prickled. Get away, she thought. Fast as she was able, she scrambled backwards and to her feet, wishing for Juno stronger than she ever had in her life. Her communicator! she realized suddenly, turning and trying to make a run for it. But without using her right arm-without being in very good shape-there was no way she could...]

I- [She tried to call for help as soon as she got the device recording, then ( ... )

[He seemed rather satisfied with his strike... such a sound... it seemed almost to draw him in, like a moth to a flame. As he stalked forward, he held his hand out.

The motion his hand made... he seemed to be holding something that wasn't even there. However, at the last second, a tiny voice of reason seemed to snap him out of this destructive train of thought.

Immediately, he stepped back and covered his eyes. Small utters of sorry were made multiple times before he backed up further and turned to flee.]

[She thought he'd picked up a weapon, and flinched back, the communicator falling out of her hands, nervous clumsiness, she'd otherwise frozen, her arm burning numb. Then he said sorry and she seemed to freeze again-opened her mouth to reply but was unable to speak.

The fear, or adrenaline, was catching up to her, the endorphins wearing off, and her legs were weak-she fell to her knees right in the middle of the street, aching and scared and confused. But he was backing away. That was good. If he changed his mind, she wouldn't be able to dodge even if she tried.]
