[Shinjiro jerks his head up real quick at the mention of Ken's name. He was out on the fringes of the group (as he's been) but he heads in closer to see what's wrong.]
The hell's going on...? Something wrong with the kid?
[ She doesn't see or notice his movements; she's sitting bent over her communicator and her eyes are a little distant; then she spots Senpai and looks up at him, worried.
Bites her lip. ] His frequency...
[ Her fingers twitch towards her evoker; of course she's wearing it. ] He can't be-
[His gaze flickers uneasily over her evoker. He's got his own jammed in his right coat pocket, in case it was needed. So far it hadn't been. But his mind can't even stay on that right now...]
First Sorata, now Ken... damn it.
[And he still doesn't know about Vash.]
That's... damn it, let me check. [He's flipping through his own communicator just to be sure.]
[ She stands and backs away from the group a few steps, drawing her evoker automatically. She has her own way of checking. Still, she finds herself hoping. His communicator just broke. There's something else. There must be-
Ken leaving was a possibility, of course. Anyone leaving was. But him leaving while she wasn't home, while he was alone... She didn't even know what to say to Senpai. Comfort him? That was patiently ridiculous, wasn't it.
BANG! Have a Juno, running a very quick and fruitless scan. ]
[As Fuuka draws her evoker, Shinjiro backs up a couple of reflexive steps, giving her enough room to work. Not that he expects anything out of it. Still, the attempt leaves him a moment to settle his thoughts.
There's regret, yeah, but not because the kid left. Ken belonged back in Iwatodai, just like Fuuka did. He'd known both of them would end up leaving some day. So, it wasn't that, but something else. He'd avoided Ken on the fourth. Hadn't heard from him since long before that.
That, and now Fuuka was gonna go back to an empty place. Damn it. Why couldn't they both have gone home together? He was getting so fucking tired of this game. Appear, disappear, lose all your memories maybe if you came back.]
[ She dismisses her Persona when that last hope was extinguished, not that she'd even really expected it, and nodded at Senpai's statement. Her thoughts were jumbled. She knew he would be. With the rest of SEES. Somewhere better for a kid, even a kid like Ken. He'd be fine, and him leaving didn't change anything, and she'd see him again, but-
The quickness of it, the weird guilt-that she wasn't there when he left, that it was so close to the fourth-She nodded again, trying to convince herself. ]
We were getting a kitten. He had a name picked out and everything... [ All at once. She didn't mean to say it, and she brushed back her hair, a little embarrassed, holstering the gun.
He'll be fine. He's very strong... I know that, but...
Yeah, you told me about the kitten... what'd he name it?
[That comes out sounding...weary somehow, but resigned. They didn't have any control over this in-and-out bullshit, so there isn't any sense being upset over. And any of his private regrets are just that, private.
[ She closes her eyes and takes a slow breath, nodding. She knows, too, getting upset doesn't help. ] I just... wish I had been there. Even if it wouldn't have helped...
[ Another pause, and then she smiles awkward. ] Um... the kitten's name is going to be "Zionga..." I think.

So it's not about him...]
You gonna be alright yourself?
