I fucking hate being injured! After a rather intense day yesterday, which I will explain in a moment, I have spent the whole day alone and intermittently drugged because I had nothing better to do. I enjoy my alone time, but now it's like...agh! No one will call me or drop by because everyone seems to A) have something better to do, or B) assume that I am lying in a comatose state on my bed with a toothache from hell and multiple ice cubes duct taped to my puffed up nose. How very frusturating. This was all easier with adrenaline. Now, to explain. To make a long story short, my face got munched yesterday. Acting exercise. We were, for one of those intense acting sort of reasons, running about with our eyes closed, feeling one another's energy. Well, Janelle and I felt it so much, we damn well collided, and I sort of ate her face. Well, my tooth did anyway. Let me make that clearer: BOOM FUCKING CRASH!!! Janelle and Glenna on floor, Janelle blacked out or something, and Glenna very confused at this sudden amount of blood from her face and the new drafty area in the vicinity of her right front tooth. So yeah. Spent yesterday at the hospital and the dentist. I have a badly banged up nose, but no fractures, and for about 4 hours, I lacked about half of my right front tooth. (Pictures are pending) Oddly enough, I actually enjoyed the whole experience, aside from the injury part. The only moments of real emotional upset were when I first realized I was toothless (Let out a single shriek that scared the fuck out of everyone, myself included) and when it occured to me that no one wants to hire a snaggletoothed actress. Aside from that, I felt pretty calm. I did talk a blue streak though. So now I'm here. I had to have a root canal, but the bottom half of the tooth was glued back on, and in February I'll be getting more work done to have it made up all pretty and perfect again. My nose doesn't look quiet so Barbara Streisand anymore, but I still cringe when I look in the mirror and try to smile. Oh well, shit happens. Janelle is at home in the Bronx. Something around her eye socket broke. They say it's not as serious as it sounds, and she'll be fine, but she still needs to get it checked out, so I'm hoping that turns out to be easily healed. I'm on Vicodin, but I still sort of feel like I've got a sinus infection and just had my braces tightened. That's the general feeling anyway. It's not really that bad though. And now I have a funny story to tell people, and as soon as I have my smile fixed and perfect again, I will do just that, and then I will laugh and flash my teeth with glee.
