on monday i had my 28 week glucose test. i did the test in the morning, and later that evening my OB office called to tell me that my glucose levels (blood sugar) came back elevated.
anything over 140 is elevated...and mine was 425.
so they told me that i needed to come up and see the "high risk pregnancy" doctors at the maternal fetal medicine clinic the next day at 2 pm. they also added that i may be admitted to the hospital to "get my blood sugar under control"
so i went up the next day, and sure enough..here i sit.
they told me that i am a type 2 diabetic, i just didn't know it before now. (it has reared it's ugly head sometime in the last year, because my glucose levels were fine when i was preggo with isaiah.)
i should only be here a few more days, however, i have to test my blood sugar 5 times per day AND take insulin 4 times a day. (even after i go home)
and...I HAVE TO COUNT CARBS. :(
if you could pray for me, that would be wonderful. i am having a hard time adjusting to the shock of it all.
