yep, you guessed it, i'm home!!
'tis bittersweet.

so transportation for the month of may was gonna be tricky...my mom, dad, and brother each have their own vehicles to get them to work/school. which kinda leaves me in the dust with working. sooo, apparently my mom's been looking out for a car for me! and what did she find? (ok, don't get too excited because when we went back to check it out, it wasn't there, and it's not a definite at all but just a possibility.) welll, as some of you may know, I have this unfounded love for classy older 80s/early 90s mercedes. she found one. "only thing, though, is it's red," she tells me. that's a problem??!?! that's gorgeous!!!! ok, needless to say, I haven't even seen it yet, but ohhh boy. I hope it's not sold and I hope it's in good shape that it's worth buying. It's a 92 with like 120,000 miles on it. yeahhh. so, we'll see.

so, this summer I get to READ! I'm so excited.
Here's my list for the summer of stuff I want to read: (basically some classics + Christian nonfiction + fun stuff)
- 1984
- Catcher and the Rye
- all my books from the $3 book sale (especially "How Capitalism Underdeveloped Black America" haha)
- some Brian McLaren
- the Perks of Being a Wallflower
- the Bell Jar
- Ender's Game
- maybe even The Fountainhead
- Watership Down (LOST reference?)
- God's Politics (I've owned it for awhile, but need to read it)
- shane claiborne's The Irresistible Revolution
- maybe Don Miller's 2nd book
- and I think I want to do the Purpose Driven Life
- more of the Bible

ok I thought there was more, but I guess that's it. I just really want/need to read 1984.

oh, and I realized this morning how freakin poor I am, and how expensive college really is. Moving from a quad into a double, and with a price increase in regards to housing, I am paying $1,000 more over the year next year than i did this year. and that's just as housing goes. I can hardly believe that. And, of course, my tuition and meal plan is now more expensive, too. it's so bad; it makes me nervous. I just need to work a lottttttttttt.

p.s. packing is a lot more fun than unpacking, although unpacking's really not that bad, especially with good music while you're doing it.
p.p.s. I still love LOST in case you're wondering
p.p.p.s I was listening to a jimmy buffet CD today and realized that he has a song whose chorus goes "let's get drunk and screw". what a man of dignity and tact.
