Ok, one important thing to report

I'm too tired to do this justice right now, but this: My sister and her family are going to have to move away from here. I'm sad and angry about the situation. I feel duped by the universe. Like, I know I still know I'm in the right place, but I feel like I was led here under false pretenses. Like I wouldn't have had the courage to move

OMG... I'm so very sorry to hear this news. I can totally understand why you would feel tricked by the universe. (I'm assuming this wasn't something your sister and her family could have foreseen?)

I hope you continue to find happiness in your new home and location nonetheless. But yeah, wow, I'd be sad too.

Speaking as onecrazymother's sister, I can attest that we didn't see it coming at all. And, as much as I'm trying to put a positive face on the situation, I will quietly state here in this safe space that I am also feeling sadness about this. I am grateful, at least, that we're moving to a place with some familiarity that's still only one (long) day's drive away, not someplace much more remote and alien-feeling, which also could have happened.

Yes, it's preferable than some of the possibilities were. And there's a lot of good there. And life unfolds in unpredictable ways. And yes, it's only one long drive away, and we have an aunt who lives at the half-way point, which is also a nice place to be.

And I do know that this is even harder for you than it is for me. I've just been through this on the other end of things.

I too, am sad to think that youre going to be moving away from us so soon after we got here, but I have taken to heart the old saw about how to make the gods laugh (tell them your plans) and so I work on letting go of expectations. Mostly, I want you guys to be well, and whatever journey that takes you on, so be it. *hugs*

They had no reason to foresee it. They have been very content with living here. My brother-in-law lost his job in September and they tried to find something local, but just couldn't.
