I love the way they equate animals to Jews, cows to slaves, a pig to Jesus, and portray women as pieces of meat (I guess it's ok to portray women as meat as long as you don't eat meat)
I love the out-of-context videos they put out, the petty little issues they're concerned with such as please, Hamburg, change your name because it offends us. Hey, change it to Veggieburg and we'll give you a FREE VEGGIE BURGER! Or please Fishkill, New York, PLEASE change your name because it suggests cruelty to fish. By the way, kill is Dutch for "creek". Get it...fish creek.
I love the way they target children in Great Britain with trading cards telling them that milk will cause acne, obesity, belching, excessive nasal mucus buildup, and flatulence (because we ALL KNOW that cabbage, broccoli and beans do not produce the most disgusting, nastiest flatulence ever) And for the record, I don't drink milk and I can assure you, I have acne and from time to time I slip my hand up to my face before anyone else...and later proclaim, "You ate it!" So, it's not just the milk.
Did I mention how much I love the fact that PETA euthanized over 85% of the animals it took in one year, and killed over 12,000 animals over the course of four years?? So, I guess you could claim that there just aren't enough people in the Norfolk, Virgina area willing to give a pet in need a good home. Well, tell that to the neighboring animal shelter that found homes for 73% of its animals the same year PETA was injecting its 85%.
If you really wanted to be disgusted (or maybe turned on in some strange, perverse way) head on over to milkgonewild.com. AND SHOW UP THIRSTY.
I could probably go on and on. It took seven pages just to talk about the disgusting advertising that PETA churns out all the time. And please, don't get me started on the hypocrite that is Ingrid Newkirk.
So, I'll say this. Being a vegetarian/vegan, that's great and if you can stick to it, more power to you. But PETA has strayed far from its original intentions...to liberate animals. Now it just uses the $29 million it takes in from donations to do everything but that.
