Sooooo, in a strange turn of events that happened REALLY fast, I am now back working for Cal-SOAP in Kerman. Just *poof* like that. I had emailed Beto earlier with a half-hearted request to let me know if any positions opened up for the new semester. He told me that they weren't technically supposed to hire for positions that opened mid-year, they're only supposed to take applications during the summer, but he'd still let me know. I figured it was a polite brush-off. Clearly, it was not. One week later, Lorenzo, my other boss, calls and asks if I'd be interested in a position. I say sure, and he tells me my old job is opening up, and my name had been thrown around already as a replacement. Cool, I say, so when does the new semester start? Well, he asks if I could start the following day...yeah, that call was yesterday and I went in this morning. It was crazy. But I'm so excited to see everyone again, and it seems like the same old Kerman I left before--which is good. It also seems as though good things have happened with the whole Cal-SOAP administration, which is what I had beef with in the first place. So I'm back in the saddle, just like that. What's even BETTER, is that not one, but TWO advisor jobs opened up, and next semester Mr. Erack will be the Higher Ed Advisor for Mendota. In short, we have quadrupled the household income, plus Eric now gets weekends and holidays off and we get to work together sort of. Merry Christmas, eh?
Other than that, all is going quite well. I'm a bit worried about my grades this semester. Yeah, the classes were pie, but I gave NO effort, and it will show I think. I'm concerned already about my dropping GPA, and this will NOT help. I need prayers and to step it up quite a lot in order to make sure I enter into my PhD program next fall. I'm trying not to let it drive me bonkers, but this is the last time I have to apply for a school, and I'd really like if it went smoothly.
Okay, so I'ma gonna go now. Love for everyone!
