[It started as any other morning. Or at least, that's how it seemed. No longer going to school, Kurt had the freedom to sleep in as much as he wanted. When he finally dragged himself out of bed, he was surprised to see Anne wasn't there waiting with breakfast. And then when he finally knocked on her door, she didn't answer. Only after pushing it

[Silly Kurt, always on the roof. It's late in the afternoon when Ororo finally goes up there, floating on a breeze. She's careful to keep it gentle; she doesn't want to send papers, if he's still got any with him, flying.]

Still up here, Kurt?

[Gosh Ororo, showing off your flying. By now, Kurt is just reading a story about "Errol Flynn" and "Lady Cordelia". It's so sickeningly sweet. He's wearing a dumb sort of smile when she shows up.]

Ah, yeah, I guess so. Am I late for something?

[temperedtempest]

[The thing about Kurt's smiles was that they were always infectious. Ororo finds herself grinning back.]

Nothing in particular, no. I just thought it rather out of character that you have yet to pop down into the kitchen for something to eat, today.

[onebluebamf]

I haven't? [Thinking back, he realizes he's been outside most of the day. But thinking about food is making him a little hungry now.] I guess I hadn't been thinking about it.

[temperedtempest]

[Ororo can understand that, she'd figured he was preoccupied, and with good reason.] If you like, I can bring you something to eat up here?

[onebluebamf]

Nah. [He hops to his feet and gathers up what he brought up with him.] I'll get a sore back staying up here anyway.

[temperedtempest]

[She lands neatly on two feet on the roof, to see if she can help bring carry any of the manuscripts or books he's got.]

With all the bounding around that you do, I'd be surprised if you did. You don't seem like the type to get a sore back.

[onebluebamf]

Maybe. Who knows, maybe I have a super powered spine. [As it turns out, he actually does. As for Storm, he'll let her take one or two of the books at least.] You know, Anne has some stories with you in them too.

[temperedtempest]

Does she? [That surprises her a bit. She got along well with the polite, well-mannered child, but other than help around the kitchen and her blossoming garden, she hadn't been too close to her at all. She turns over the books she'd picked up in her hands.] That's sweet of her. What are they about?

[onebluebamf]

[He starts digging out one of them.] Mostly it's just about us and doing... you know, the kind of stuff we do. Or at least, how Anne thinks we'd do them.

[temperedtempest]

That sounds interesting. And just how did she picture us, doing what we do?

Am I? [Look at that pleased little smile on her face.] It sounds like an excellent read already.

Well, here's hoping she doesn't mind us reading them. [Balancing the stuff in his hands, he'll dig out one of the ones largely about Ororo and hand it over.]
