[It started as any other morning. Or at least, that's how it seemed. No longer going to school, Kurt had the freedom to sleep in as much as he wanted. [Melanie isn't entirely sure what to say or do. She never actually met Anne, but she was close to Kurt so it'd feel weird to just ignore the post. He sounds okay, but it can't hurt to check up on him. So, she heads over to house sixteen to pay him a visit, but eventually spots a familiar blue figure on the roof.

Melanie learned how to scale buildings and the like thanks to her family (in case there was ever a situation where their cards malfunctioned), so getting to the roof of the house isn't much trouble. She'll come up behind him, but Melanie isn't trying to be stealthy right now, so it won't be hard to hear her.]

Fair enough. [He scoots just a bit to make room for her. She might not notice, but he has his tail curl up behind and around her. He's only doing that because he doesn't want her falling off or anything. Not everyone is as handy on a roof as he is.] I guess you heard on the journal, yeah?

[Melanie notices the tail, but she doesn't mind and doesn't bother drawing attention to it.]

Yeah, I did. You doing okay? [He sounded fine, but a friend is a friend and it's not exactly easy to suddenly lose one.]

I'll be fine. I'm happy for her. And... I guess it really hasn't hit me that I probably won't see her again. [And that's why he has a book next to him that has 'Anne of Green Gables' on the cover.]

[There's always a chance Anne may come back, but since Kurt is glad she's back home (and how most people seem to hate being in Luceti), Melanie won't bring it up. Melanie hasn't noticed the book, though. Mostly, she's just looking out at Luceti.]

Wish I could have met her.

She's a character in a book? [Considering all the other ridiculous stuff that happens in Luceti, this shouldn't be very surprising, but... welp.]

[... So that would mean that she (since she's from Batman's universe and all) and Kurt are both fictional characters. Freaky.]

You know, with all the other bizarre stuff that happens here, I get the feeling that I shouldn't be as surprised as I am by that information. [Still, weird as that all is, Melanie is still fairly relaxed.]

Well, it's not every day you hear that you're fictional. [She's not going to dwell on it, though.]

But right now I'm in Luceti. So regardless of whether or not I'm real in some other universe, it doesn't change the fact that I'm still here for now. [Live for the moment, etc etc. Sure, it's freaky, but she's still around. So that has to count for something.]

Yeah. Besides, I feel plenty real right now. So I don't worry about it too much. [He could come up with all kinds of theories for it, but in the long run, it's had little impact on his life in Luceti.]
