[Locked to Housemates][Kurt arrived none too gently in the middle of the night, lying in front of the fountain. His head was dizzy, but when he finally came to, he realized people were walking by him without so much as looking at him, despite his current state. He realized it was night time, but he was still stunned that they didn't seem to notice

She'll go to the Battle Dome. Leave a note on her pillow like a good girl. And run a sim until she actually felt tired enough to sleep, then - hopefully - commandeer a bed in the Med Lab.
She tucks her gloves on tightly and slips out the front door, blinking as she adjusts to the darkness. ]

Hey Rogue.

[And that's abruptly curbed] Where are you?

[When he realizes she seems to be only looking at his 'voice' and not him, he ends up confused. It's not that dark, is it? But then, those people didn't see him in the plaza. The light coming from the doorway isn't that far, so he steps out into the light.]
Better?

Please still be Kurt.]
Kurt?

... yeah? What's wrong?

[But it is Kurt. Michael was good, but there was just no way he could actually fake concern. He didn't have that much of a heart left in him to do it in any way which was convincing.
And Rogue knew Kurt.]

[She hits his arm, gloved open palm to bicep and not hard enough to do anything more than sting as much as she wants to shake him.] Quit lettin' them do this to ya!
[And in a moment which will no doubt go down in history as one of the few times Rogue actually does this, she takes advantage of the fact that she's in her uniform and throws her arms around him in a brief but fierce hug. The kinds of hugs she usually wants to give out but is normally strong enough to keep from trespassing over that wall. Her eyes are shut tightly, head turned away to avoid brushing any part of him with her skin, but right now more than her need for distance she needs to know that he is there and whole.]

Rogue...? What's wrong? How long was I gone? [He can remember being there. Most of it's fuzzy, but he's starting to realize that maybe he had been there for months. Was that even possible?]

'bout three weeks. Everyone's still here. Our Gambit and that Magneto and Professor showed up.
[Hitting him with new info is clearly the best way to distract him as Rogue attempts to rebuild that wall.]

Rogue... [That's not what he wants to know.]

The Professor's not stayin' with us this time. I'm not sure where he's staying. But he doesn't need the help - he's walkin'.
[So she'll just keep talking and not quite looking at him, then. This isn't so much a reflection on him as much as she is trying to regain the emotional distance.]

Rogue, what's wrong with me.

You tell me. You're the one that just got back - anythin' feel off?

I couldn't see ya in the shadows at all. Nothin', not even an outline. And your eyes... I wasn't sure you were you. [She meets his gaze, wishing that her touch could be a comfort, but hugging him like that had been selfish and irresponsible and she doesn't dare lay a hand on his shoulder or his cheek. She knows how much his 'more human' features mean to him. Gawd.]
They're yellow, Kurt. Yellow all the way through.
[All she can do for him is say it straight out and not look away. And that is exactly what she does.]
