[Winry was going to head to the bar to check on Buffy, but just before she reaches the door step she chickens out. She didn't want to bother her, not when everything was such a mess. Instead she'll head back home. After getting the feeling of being 'watched' she looks around. Was it Batman patrolling? Or Raph messing with her? Either way-]

[Well well well, isn't she a pretty looking thing. He doesn't exactly make himself obvious, choosing to speak from a nice obscure perch he's found inside a tree.]

Nothing here but us trees.

[Well that voice definitely wasn't Raph or Batman. She turns to try and look in the direction of the voice, but with no luck.] Do these talking trees have a name?

[He hops down from the branches, his features remaining obscured by the hood, although his eyes begin to glow. His tail whips back and forth behind him as he advances.]

Call me Gray.

[Winry faces him now, tilting her head as if to get a better look. The tail bothers her a bit, but not because it's a tail. She's seen Al's cats do something similar with their tails when they were about to pounce on something.]

Gray, huh? My name is Winry.

[He doesn't walk towards her... but around her, rather.]

And what's a pretty girl like you doing out here alone at night? Don't you know it's dangerous?

[That gives her the creeps, honestly. The blonde does her best not to fidget, but instead stand so she has a little better footing.]

I know, [In fact she used to avoid being out at night.] but I have friends who are on the patrols. I was headed home anyway.

[He stops and glances around him, his keen night vision taking in his surroundings.]

I don't see anyone on patrol. Maybe I should take you home.

[Darn. They might be on the other side of the village then.]

Thanks, but I think I can manage. [She's not sure she trusts this guy enough to let him near her house. Maybe he'll back off after his offer being denied? Winry can only hope.]

[He advances a step towards her.]

Why? You got something against me?

[Winry fights the urge to step back. She's made that mistake before.]

Not at all. I'm a big girl, aren't I? I can walk home by myself.

[With the frustration rising in his voice, his eyes begin to glow again.]

[Taking a half step forward she raises her voice just a little.]

And what makes you think that? Are you looking to start something, 'Gray'? Or do you just expect all girls to let some stranger take them home at night?
