It appears that I haven't filled one of these end of year things out since 2006...shocking really. I was hoping to read back what I'd thought about previous years but I guess it's not to be.
1. What did you do in 2009 that you'd never done before?:
Moved in with my boyfriend.
2. Did you keep your New Year's resolutions, and will you make more for next year?:
I can't remember making any.I strongly doubt they were kept if I did.I'll make some this year but again,I doubt they'll be kept.
3. Did anyone close to you give birth?:
Yes, my 2nd Cousin brought Amy Leigh Rose into the world and Khaleda produced little Niamh.
4. Did anyone close to you die?:
No.
5. What countries did you visit?:
Northern Ireland...that's it.
6. What would you like to have in 2010 that you lacked in 2009?:
A steady job. Inspiration.
7. What dates from 2009 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?:
March 2nd(turned 21) July 4th (Abi and Jon's wedding) July 10th (Graduation and Graduation Ball)
8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?:
Graduating.
9. What was your biggest failure?:
I don't think I failed too much this year. I was pretty terrible with money, as usual.
10. Did you suffer illness or injury?:
A few sniffles and grazes,nothing much. Apart from when I stabbed myself in the index finger....that was pretty bad.
11. What was the best thing you bought?:
Piles of books.
12. Whose behaviour merited celebration?:
Pogues's, he put up with a lot this summer.
13. Whose behaviour made you appalled and depressed?:
Oh, a few people. Tom. Friends of a friend. Random strangers.
14. Where did most of your money go?:
Rent.
15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?:
Finally finding a job. Going home to see family after long gaps. Seeing Mary and Rose again after a whole year.

Uhhhhh...I don't really know that I had a song for this year.

happier.

thinner.

richer,weirdly.
18. What do you wish you'd done more of?:
Reading. Writing. Taking hotos. Taking time to remember stuff.

Worrying about things that always turn out okay in the end.
20. How will you be spending Christmas?:
It's already goneby, but I spent it in Leeds with my family, eating and drinking and laughing a lot.

Very much so, with Richard the Cat, the furry little heart-thief.
23. What were your favourite TV programs?:
True Blood. River Cottage.
24. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year?:
No.
25. What was the best book you read?:
A Heartbreaking Work of Staggering Genius by Dave Eggers. I read it three times this year becasue it's wonderful.
26. What was your greatest musical discovery?:
Ca't say I had on. Music didn't play such a big role for me in 2009.

Studo Ghibli box set.

A steady job.

Where The Wild Things Are, by a mile. Although I loved Up! as well.

I was twenty-one. Pogues and I had a party at 111 Ullet Road as he turned 22 the day before I turned 21. It was messy.
31. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?:
A first. A directon. A job.

Same old jeans and t-shirts for the most part, although I did make much more of an effort with dresses and skirts too.

Pogues. Gilly. Always looking forward to when I would see the people I love again.

Ben Fogle.

Too many to consider.

Eleanor, same as always.

Finlay. I love little kids. I wish people didn't grow up.

you can worry about money all you won't but that won't make any difference to how things turn out in the end.

Getting into the new house after the Hellish day we had getting here.

Lying in bed crying while someone you love is asleep next to you is a very lonely experience.

Main Street, Omagh, Northern Ireland.

Pogues, Kerry, John, Garry, Andy... probably a few others too.

People I like, if all goes to plan.

I don't really know. They all had highs and lows.

Less than in previous years.

Some.

I don't actually know for sure that any of the things I think were lies were actually lies...

Yes.

Not eally, people have been very good to me in general.

I can't even be botherd to work it out. I spent most of my cash on rent and education and bils anf flights and trains.
54. If you could go back in time to any moment of 2009 and change what?
I'd appreciate the final semester of 3rd year a lot more than I did at the time.
55. What are your plans for 2010?
To find a steady job. To save some money. To get out to New York and see Mary and Rose and meet Danny. To read a lot more. To write a lot more. To learn to sew.
