Sometimes change can bring anger. Sometimes, change can also bring hope.
In One Bad Friday's case, it brought both. As a band, things sometimes have to be specific, and all the members normally have to agree on things, pretty much 100%. In our case, things haven't been too 100% lately.
We regret to inform you One Bad Friday fans, that One Bad Friday is pretty much dead. Dead in a sense, but not really dead. We have departed with Travis, our singer. Creative differences. Yeah, I know that's the reason for any band roster change. But this is basically it. I'm not going to go into extreme details, but Josh, and yours truly have talked it over with Travis, and both parties have come out with a somewhat-positive feeling. A somewhat positive feeling... you know, kinda like how bittersweet chocolate still kinda tastes like chocolate, but it still tastes like shit? Yeah.
To compensate for this certainly big change, I will be moving to cover the lead vocals. And honestly, I like paying more attention to what I'm screaming as opposed to having to play the bass at the same time. That's a main reason as to why my vocals on "One Last serenade" are quite clearer and more energetic. Filling in on bass will be our good friend Brett. I've known him since second grade, and Josh has known him for a while. We're also adding a second guitarist. We're not too sure who exactly it's going to be, but we pretty much have two finalists. There's my friend Chaney, who I've known for a couple months, but we're still not 100% on his situation. It will be either him or our friend, and Brett's girlfriend Sasha on guitar. We'll figure out what's going on with that soon enough. As of right now, we're just getting used to these changes and whatnot. We will also be changing our name. It was Travis' name, and we wouldn't feel right using his name.
As for Travis, we still love him, and he will always have a place in the heart of our family. It sucks to have to see it come to this, but like I said earlier, change can bring hope.
I'll keep things updated as to when a final name is picked. We have one, but we're debating it. And maybe I'll create another LJ community. And maybe even a stupid myspace, since Sasha says we should.
Love,
Adam
