summer update
ah yes, the lazy days of summer have totally got oneaudgirl in relaxed, cruise-control mode. but for my summer job, my brain would be mush right now given the amount of tv that i watch. happily, the job is not too demanding, and thankfully, i get along with my officemate. i think we get along because we both enjoy food... when she brought in a ripe avocado and lemon during the 2nd week to supplement the office breakfast spread on fridays, so that we could have toasted bagels with cream cheese, salt, pepper, sliced avocados, and a squeeze of lemon, i knew i could overlook any quirks of hers and prayed that she could put up with me for a whole summer (and continue sharing her avocado!). i genuinely think the work i get is interesting, although i wonder how much of that is because my enthusiasm level is still way high and i'm willing to do most anything to get an offer there. but how i know that this experience is for real and something that i want to seriously pursue is that: a) i can wake up before my alarm and get out of bed without much procrastinating and b) i don't come home feeling like i've been bushwhacked (like how i felt after that teaching stint a few summers ago).
let's see if i can do a better job posting; for my loyal fans, you might even begin to count on a personal email before the end of this week. i finally caved in and got DSL b/c i was having trouble with my work laptop and the first thing the IT guy (who is very nice) said to me was, "hey, i heard this nasty rumor that you're still on dial-up... tell me I heard wrong"
