That is an excellent tag to track! I myself track the Katie McGrath tag because I run fuck yeah, Merlin/Morgana! and it's generally easier to find anything Merlin./Morgana related that way as opposed to by going through his tag. Also thank you first off for leaving a comment! Most people don't seem too anymore. D:
This show amazes me because in the same episode you get the over the top acting, like all the Morgana evil smirks, and then it steps back and has these amazing subtle moments.
Don't be sorry! And thank you! I didn't think it was necessarily possible to in a picspam because it's so much about how he breathes and the way he blinks! which sounds like such an absurd thing to say, but. One thing I wanted to do this summer but never got around to was capping Merlin's face while the dragon tells him he has to kill Morgana, because that's also the epitome of his subtle acting at its finest. And ikr, I just rewatched the scene with Gaius now and there are no words. Even when Gaius wakes him up you can tell Morgana is the first thing on his mind. Also I'm going to be posting a picspam of comparing the last time Merlin said "It's good to have you back" (2x03) with this one. Right now it's only six caps for each scene but it could easily be like thirty six, ahaha.
I got to meet Colin at San Diego Comic Con, and now every time I see him my heart just kind of explodes.
God, you are incredibly lucky, YOU GOT TO MEET HIM! I went through this show only around four months ago, and Colin was (IS!) the stand-out for me - I could literally watch him reacting to things for entire episodes. And reacting to things that may not even be there! I don't know how he does it, especially what he does with the dragon. (And that scene you're speaking of specifically is wonderful.) Another thing from this episode that I absolutely adored was right at the end, when he got stung, and he didn't yell and ham it up like he could, but just quietly collapsed into himself. It's glorious.
The over-the-top acting makes this show fun, but I'm certain I stay around for the subtler scenes, because they knock it out of the park.
I was so shocked when they announced both Colin and Tony were going to come to San Diego Comic Con, I thought for sure we'd be stuck with juts Johnny and Julian, and then when the schedule was announced I didn't think both the panel and the signing were doable, but in the end all the good karma from all the missed signings I never went to paid off. Last year was supposed to be my last time going to SDCC, but on one hand I want to go one more time to try and catch the rest of the cast. He was just as perfect as you would imagine, I was so impressed by the way he made eye contact with everybody, and seemed like he was actually enjoying himself. You can tell how much work he puts into acting, he's a real ~ thespian, and it definitely pays off.
