Mols: Um...Harry? Can I have Sunday off from training, please?
Harry: ...why?
Mols: That kid I babysit is trying to tell me Hellboy's real and he spends Sunday's with him. I told him I'd ask you so he could 'introduce us'. *puppy face* Please, it'll mean alot to the kid if I keep playing along.
Harry: Hellboy? Oh you mean Red! Sure thing. He's a good guy to know
Mols: *handwave* Right right, that's what I'll tell him when he shows me his action figure or whatever. Good thinking, Boss.
Harry: ...Molly. Red is very very real. He spends his time down at the Troll Market.
Mols: Uncle Jack keeps a eight foot tall red demon with a tail in his basement? *deadpan*
Harry: No. Uncle Jack is Red's boss over at the BPRD.
Mols: Oh...so he's kinda like Toot toot for you? *nods* And Jack lets him...watch his kid. *nervous swallow*
Harry: Giant ass Toot Toot, super bad ass Toot toot...and Yeah. He lets Red watch his kids. Lets him train his baby brother too. If you are on his good side he's not a bad guy to be around.
Mols: *now she's nervous about meeting Hellboy for REAL* What if you're not on his good side?
Harry: He'll either ignore you or simply beat you to a pulp.
Mols: O.o
Harry: You haven't met him yet so he'll give you a chance
Mols: Plus...I'll be with the kid. And his twin brother.
Harry: Yep
Mols: Who's gonna beat someone up in front of kids, right?
Harry: Right. *chuckles*
Mols: So...anything I can do to make him NOT want to beat me up?
Harry: Don't stare at his horns, don't stare at his tail...don't stare at all. Treat him like you'd treat a normal person
Mols: *nods* That's not gonna be easy...all this stuff is still so new. *worried glance* I mean, you and Dad talked about it but... *trails off*
Harry: Wanna go meet him now?
Mols: *blinks* I guess... *cough* You can protect me.
Harry: Yeah kid. I can protect you.
Mols: *nods, goes to grab Harry's keys for him*
Harry: *shrugs and idly follows*
Mols: You're gonna let me drive?
Harry:"Yep."
Mols: Mols looks at the keys and back at Harry. She's never been allowed to drive his car, at least in her own time. "Thanks, boss."
Harry:"You're welcome. Just be careful. I like my new car." Harry chuckled.
Mols: Mols squees a bit and runs out the the vehicle, pausing to calm herself before jumping in the drivers seat. "Do...you have GPS?" How the hell'd be manage that?
Harry:Harry laughed. "A pixie friend of mine Wizard proofed one."
Mols: She snaps her fingers like she just remembered. "Jinx! Right! She was gonna make a phone for me." Mols grins. "Harry, I need someone to get me a cellphone."
Harry:"I'll think about it."
Mols: She looks dumbfounded. "I can't have a PHONE!? How are people supposed to get a hold of me if I don't have a phone?" And by 'people' she means her boyfriend.
Harry:"I didn't say you couldn't have a phone. I'm saying I'll think about getting you one cause I'm not asking for John to give me the money to give my apprentice a phone.
Mols: "I have money." Molly says curtly. "Jack's paying me to watch his kids. I'll buy it myself." She smiles a bit. "Maybe even buy you one after I get a real job."
Harry:"I have a smart phone kid." He smirked at her.
Mols: Molly's eyes go wide. "Can I get an iPhone!?"
Harry:"Why you asking me kid? You are getting paid by Jack." He chuckled
Mols: She rolls her eyes. "I mean...it'll work. After Jinx does her thing?"
Harry:"Yes." He pulled out his own phone to show her.
Mols: She's driving, Harry. "Is that the new one. How'd you manage that!?"
Harry:"Carefully. Eyes back on the road now."
Mols: She squeaks and pulls the car back to the lane. "No really, how'd you afford that?" She probably makes more babysitting than Harry does at his job, to be honest.
Harry:"It was a gift..." From John.
Mols: "Oh." At the mention of a gift, Molly absently tugs at the jade beads around her neck. She hasn't taken them off since Tommy gave them to her unless she had to. It's about the only thing on her that remains contestant other than the bracelet she uses for training. "Gifts are nice."
Harry:He nodded. "Yeah."
Mols: She's drifting a bit again as she day dreams about her hot boyfriend and how adorable it was when he gave her that necklace.
Harry:"Molly!"
Mols: "What." She squeals, and totally runs Harry's car into a ditch. "Oh...shit."
Harry:"Cut the engine." He said with an oddly calm voice
Mols: She does, not saying a single word. Her other hand stays clenched on the steering wheel and her eyes squeezed shut. She's partially veiling a bit too, just like she did when she wanted to hide from her mother a few years ago.
Harry:"Switch me." He got out of the car.
Mols: "Yes, sir." Molly unbuckles, and peels her hands from the steering wheel before sliding over to the passenger side.
Harry: Harry got in the drivers seat. "Are you okay?"
Mols: Molly nods, swallowing hard. "Is your car OK?"
Harry:"I'm more worried about you."
Mols: She looks away, biting her lip. "I just got distracted, that's all. It won't happen again." But sadly Molly can't know that for sure. Something about this guy just messes with her head, more than it should.
Harry:"I think from now on we'll use the beetle." He chuckles.
Mols: Molly glances over looking absolutely pathetic. "Are you mad?"
Harry:"No kid. I'm not angry."
Mols: "Why not?" She doesn't get it. He should be angry, right? Her mom would be angry as hell.
Harry:"Cause I was a teenager still learning to drive once."
Mols: "Mom wouldn't let me use the sandcrawler...she love that stupid thing and I didn't want to mess up dad's truck." Did you even check if she had a license yet, Harry?
Harry:"...do you at least have your learner's permit..."
Mols: Molly nods, and pulls out a wallet. These a huge pink plastic chain on it and it's shaped like a skull with a cute little bow on it's head. "Never got to take the test. Things got weird at home and I...left before I could finish." She tosses her now very expired temporary permit to Harry.
Harry:Harry was very very quiet
Mols: Molly feels guilty now, and Harry's feelings are almost poking at her. "It was my mistake." She says softly but firmly. "Like you say, Boss I need to take responsibility...and grow up."
Harry:He ruffled her hair. "We'll go tomorrow to get your learners."
