A place for Man-D to put some of her shorter writing, a dump so that people can read the ridiculous things she writes for no reason.

He thinks she's radiant.

It doesn't take much to impress Dave, really -- he was smitten from the day she let him talk about Doctor Who for hours, the day that she declared herself his companion and told him they'd travel the world together. Dave believed her; Jade had this way about her, that way that said she was always sincere. She wanted people to hear the truth, so she provided it. It wasn't false in any way. Jade always believed that people could bring out the best in themselves, and Dave was no exception. She wanted him to succeed, even though he told her that he might never leave the island.

i doubt that!!!! i mean lmao jeez dave we are only thirteen :) imagine what can happen in a year or two! <3

She was right, of course -- it always surprised him how accurate she could be about these things without a single look at the Oracles of Skaia. He watched her when he dreamed, his Princess -- no, his Companion, thinking of the fun they'd have together. Of how many adventures they could have, of traveling through space together. When he woke, Dave charted the stars for her -- they would visit them, they could name them. Jade didn't know about that; she liked to believe that he was just doing it for fun, and honestly Dave preferred it that way. But one day, maybe. One day, before the stars went out.

He waited forever for her -- he would hone his patience, be like the Doctor, his hero, the man who believed in nonviolence and collected an assorted crew of friends who loved him dearly. It's not that he was passive -- Dave knew that the Doctor was a force to be reckoned with. And armed with ridiculous scarf in hand, he tramped out into the jungle, looking for the adventures of a lifetime.

The day came, eventually. Dave watches her through his sungoggles, tugging at his scarf in anticipation. Time seems to stand still -- he wouldn't know, that's Rose's thing. But the air changed, spiraling around him, grabbing his hat and sending it flying. He heard her laughter -- it was something Jade had learned to do only recently, send her voice flying on the breeze, reverberating around the Incipisphere. She spirals above him, doing backflips, letting the breeze carry her where it wants. And in a moment he's there with her; he's always been good at moving quickly, space rearranging itself for him. He knows the fabric of space like the palm of his hand, knows where to cut it so that he can simply step through and appear somewhere else. And he does it now, cutting it precisely and stepping through to appear in front of her, standing on the checkered field of Skaia.

"Dave--" she spies him and grins, flinging herself at him with the force of the wind behind her, decked out in ridiculous blue pajamas. Dave falls to the ground, hugging her tight. "This is cool! I was worried, but now you're here!"

"Of course I'm here, I'm the Doctor!" He laughs too, and she snuggles against him, picking him up with the wind as well. It's a little frightening, but nothing he can't handle. After all, hasn't he stretched space to his will before? What's a little flying to battle against that?

"Will you come exploring with me?" Jade looks at him pleadingly. Dave knows he has things to do -- frogs to breed, places to explore on his own. But she's his Compantion -- his friend forever, the girl he wants to take on adventures, to share his world with. He knows he doesn't have infinite time, but he wants this. She's giving him a look and though he could tell her no and break her heart he can't possibly let his Companion down. So as their feet touch the ground, he takes her hand and nods.

"Come on then, lets go."
