Well. Er. Best laid plans and all that.
September 1 was the day of unscreening of entries to the "Racing the Clock" prompt. As of September 2, the number of entries adds up to... zero. Um, yay? (That certainly makes cataloging easy!)
I suspect that the cause may be one (or a combination) of the following factors:
1. Burnout and/or summer travel and activities. (Personally, I had a couple of ideas for cute/light-hearted stories and didn't have the time or energy to follow through.)
2. The prompt just didn't speak to people.
3. Lack of encouragement/goading/nagging for participation.
4. General procrastination with stories yet to come.
5. etc. etc.
The prompt post remains open. If you have a work in progress or are inspired to create one, please feel free to post it to comments here anytime throughout September.
And we'll make at least one more go at it with a new prompt release on October 1.
