So now I'm stuck going to Seattle, and honestly I don't know why I'm having such doubts about going. It should be really fun. I guess I'm just really worried about money right now, which I can't complain because of my lack of a job is my own fault. I tried to refund my tickets and the airline won't do it without charging me a shit load of fees

When you buy airline tickets at the cheapest price (which is what most people do) you are not getting a flexable fare. Buying a ticket that you can change/cancel costs more.. even when its the same seats. They used to be more lenient, but lately they are losing so much money its harder to get ANYTHING out of them. So pretty much, you're stuck.
