House of Cards
Is anyone familiar with the Radiohead song HOUSE OF CARDS on the IN RAINBOWS cd???
I just love it so much.. even though I think it's supposed to be about cheating on a spouse I think. "Forget about your house of cards and I'll do mine" etc.
But before I read the lyrics and saw that this is what it was about, I took it as being symbolic of forgetting about your cares and your apprehension and just diving into love.
I see an image of a girl sleeping inside an egg as a clock ticks diligently. The guy sings ouside trying to wake her, tapping on the walls of her self-imposed prison, though light shines through.
Images of a surreal desert and gears churning, keeping the clock ticking and the girl sleeping willfully in her caccoon..
The thing I realized through this image and having many others as strong when related to music is that I design really well to music and I think I would like to someday design music videos for a living. There is something so poetic that is lost when they aren't done properly. I would love to work with bands and appeal to their wishes while bringing something of my own to the table.
I have so many great music video ideas (and have since I was in first grade) that were always way cooler than what I finally saw on MTV. I'm gonna bring em back ;) ..
Anyway- my first design is actually going well. I'm breaking down my blocks and just going for things and I'm working faster than I have before. My indecisive nature is finally waning and I'm not afraid to make choices.
I'm really finding myself here... <3
OH and I love Weird Fishes/ Arpeggi and Jigsaw Falling into Place as much as HOUSE OF CARDS....
