Third-Person Sample: Hikaru sat, cross-legged on the floor; beside him, as usual, Kaoru sat, identically cross-legged. And as usual, they wore the same expression, possibly even felt the same emotions. Hikaru glanced to his twin brother, pouting slightly as if to silently say, "This is stupid; this is irritating; Why are we doing this?" And as usual, his noiseless statement was heard, and responded to with equal enjoyment.
Shifting his position lazily, Hikaru looked over to the girl beside him, sitting patiently. He watched a pair of thin, trousered legs pass by the empty spot beside her with boredom, travelling the circle of boys (and otherwise rather boy-shaped persons) with great focus.
"Nee, Haruhi~ Do you think this game is fun?" he asked in a psuedomurmur, leaning forward nonchalantly. Typical response- very practical, "Not really," as was expected; and yet, with such a demeanour, so not-joking, so un-playful, things that were so unfamiliar to a person who spent fifteen out of sixteen years of his young life in the exclusive company of a brother who was almost exactly like him in personality and in appearance, Hikaru found himself drawn to these strange attributes, coming from a girl who was even from the 'impoverished realm of the commoners.'
The Host Club never failed to offer new and strange experiences. Two years ago, Hikaru would have snubbed any suggestion of playing commoner children's games without hesitation. Albeit, he still sat here, slightly bored. It had crossed his mind to reach out and 'accidentally' trip the pacing boy behind him, but then what?
The pace sped up. How... moronically conspicuous. His eyes lighting up, Hikaru turned around quickly; on the floor behind him, as he expected, lay sloppily a red piece of cloth. Snatching it up, Hikaru shot a fiery stare at the blonde who continued to walk around the group. His target made a shocked, overly dramatic reaction, bursting into a run; Hikaru grinned widely, chasing after with considerable speed.
But he lost. The blonde slid theatrically into the gingerhead's previous seat, clinging loosely to Haruhi beside him.
Offering a devious smirk to his brother, Hikaru waved the handkerchief in the winning blonde's face as Kaoru rose.
"We've made a new rule~! ☆ If you get the hankichi, you have to catch both of us~~," Hikaru chimed, grinning as he and Kaoru paced round the circle, mirror images of each other.
Round and round, and round and round... And Hikaru very inconspicuously dropped the handkerchief behind Haruhi, with a hardly noticeable look to Kaoru... who simultaneously dropped a new, sudden, second handkerchief behind Tamaki beside her. Walking around very smugly at a comfortable pace, the twins gave each other smirks of triumph.
But just as Tamaki stood again, and Haruhi noticed yet another handkerchief behind her as well, the twins sat down gracefully back in the group.
"Buuuu, Tono loses, Tono loses~! ☆" Whooping and cheering themselves on, Tamaki responded to their taunts with an over-the-top, childish tantrum, as they expected.
And it was to their great amusement, of course. Which only further irritated the blonde. Together, Hitachiin Hikaru and Hitachiin Kaoru laughed, grinning identical grins; now the commoner hankichi game seemed to promise much more fun~ ☆

HITACHIIN KAORU → twin brother;; most important person ever. Hikaru has spent his entire life with Kaoru -- they have a special bond together, as twins; Hikaru agrees with anything Kaoru does, nearly, as they're incredibly like-minded. Kaoru is more levelheaded and mature than Hikaru, and he doesn't like to acknowledge that this is true. He's very contradictory about his relationship with Kaoru -- he wants only to be "Hikaru + Kaoru," while he simultaneously wants only to be "Hikaru," as his own separate person. However inseparable, both twins, together, are trying to adapt to the new, real world -- doubly to Discedo -- with and without each other...
FUJIOKA HARUHI → first friend, best friend, first best friend, first love;; Queen of Changing Lives Forever. While Tamaki opened the door to the world that was not "Hikaru + Kaoru," Haruhi is the one who was damn bold enough to enter their world herself. Haruhi was the first one ever -- including their parents, most likely -- who could tell Hikaru and Kaoru apart based on their personalities. Heart-winner!! Haruhi became both Kaoru and Hikaru's first friend, aside from each other, and both boys love her dearly. Hikaru, however, has come to love her a little less platonically; Kaoru, though they've never sat down and talked about Hikaru's feelings for Haruhi, -- Hikaru is confused and does not yet accept them -- realises this, and pushes their relationship together (he ships it). Suffering prematurely from "jealous boyfriend symptom," and valuing Haruhi as, pretty much, his second most important person in life, Hikaru is ready to defend her when needed, or be a total bitch to anyone making moves -- he's quite caring.
MORINOZUKA TAKASHI ♥ MORI → wild kei;; partner of the cutest senior ever. Hikaru and Kaoru are not the only people who come in a pair in the Host Club. Mori may baffle them, on some levels, by his incessant stoicness, but little words can say big things. He is just as much a member as the Host Club for all his silence, and thus just as much a part of their world now. Hikaru considers him a friend to be counted, and views him as very important -- and sometimes very, very fun. Go, go, Morisenpai!! ☆

NILL → first friend in the disco;; favourite angel. Nill's first impression on Hikaru was a lasting one-- that she was a sweetheart. At first, it was pretty much hosting work -- that fake gentlemanly smile, and even if you entertained him for a moment, he could take you or leave you in the same amount of time. However, as time passed, and Nill continued to engulf Hikaru with her kind selflessness -- and utter cuteness -- he eventually came to genuinely like her, as a friend, something notably rare. He still maintains his Hosting attitude, and though Nill's seen glimpses of their strangeness, she may not know how warped and cruel the twins can both be... Now that Haruhi has arrived in the Disco, Hikaru feels slightly wary about Nill, particularly about mentioning her, in fear of giving the wrong impression. It's all so platonic.
CHARLES → room-mate;; favourite friend. At first, Charles was, of course, an interesting chewtoy. He was challenging, a tricky one -- the same old antics wouldn't get a rise out of him at all, yet something small and not meant to be annoying would bother him immensely; it is completely unpredictable. Charles, also, may be capable of telling the difference between Hikaru and Kaoru very easily, but is just apathetic enough to not dwell on it at all. However, due to an honesty curse, Charles and Hikaru -- both of them being ridiculous liars who bottle their true emotions -- were forced to admit how they feel about each other -- and that would be, "You're fun to hang out with." It was established, then, that, yes, they are friends ... somehow. And though Charles is incessantly annoyed and pestered by his two roommates' antics, he is definitely one of Hikaru's favourite people in the Disco, next to himself and his brother and Haruhi. He's just short enough for an arm rest, too.

HITACHIIN KAORU → twin brother;; most important person ever. Hikaru has spent his entire life with Kaoru -- they have a special bond together, as twins; Hikaru agrees with anything Kaoru does, nearly, as they're incredibly like-minded. Kaoru is more levelheaded and mature than Hikaru, and he doesn't like to acknowledge that this is true. He's very contradictory about his relationship with Kaoru -- he wants only to be "Hikaru + Kaoru," while he simultaneously wants only to be "Hikaru," as his own separate person. However inseparable, both twins, together, are trying to adapt to the new, real world -- doubly to Discedo -- with and without each other...
FUJIOKA HARUHI → first friend, best friend, first best friend, first love;; Queen of Changing Lives Forever. While Tamaki opened the door to the world that was not "Hikaru + Kaoru," Haruhi is the one who was damn bold enough to enter their world herself. Haruhi was the first one ever -- including their parents, most likely -- who could tell Hikaru and Kaoru apart based on their personalities. Heart-winner!! Haruhi became both Kaoru and Hikaru's first friend, aside from each other, and both boys love her dearly. Hikaru, however, has come to love her a little less platonically; Kaoru, though they've never sat down and talked about Hikaru's feelings for Haruhi, -- Hikaru is confused and does not yet accept them -- realises this, and pushes their relationship together (he ships it). Suffering prematurely from "jealous boyfriend symptom," and valuing Haruhi as, pretty much, his second most important person in life, Hikaru is ready to defend her when needed, or be a total bitch to anyone making moves -- he's quite caring.
MORINOZUKA TAKASHI ♥ MORI → wild kei;; partner of the cutest senior ever. Hikaru and Kaoru are not the only people who come in a pair in the Host Club. Mori may baffle them, on some levels, by his incessant stoicness, but little words can say big things. He is just as much a member as the Host Club for all his silence, and thus just as much a part of their world now. Hikaru considers him a friend to be counted, and views him as very important -- and sometimes very, very fun. Go, go, Morisenpai!! ☆

NILL → first friend in the disco;; favourite angel. Nill's first impression on Hikaru was a lasting one-- that she was a sweetheart. At first, it was pretty much hosting work -- that fake gentlemanly smile, and even if you entertained him for a moment, he could take you or leave you in the same amount of time. However, as time passed, and Nill continued to engulf Hikaru with her kind selflessness -- and utter cuteness -- he eventually came to genuinely like her, as a friend, something notably rare. He still maintains his Hosting attitude, and though Nill's seen glimpses of their strangeness, she may not know how warped and cruel the twins can both be... Now that Haruhi has arrived in the Disco, Hikaru feels slightly wary about Nill, particularly about mentioning her, in fear of giving the wrong impression. It's all so platonic.
CHARLES → room-mate;; favourite friend. At first, Charles was, of course, an interesting chewtoy. He was challenging, a tricky one -- the same old antics wouldn't get a rise out of him at all, yet something small and not meant to be annoying would bother him immensely; it is completely unpredictable. Charles, also, may be capable of telling the difference between Hikaru and Kaoru very easily, but is just apathetic enough to not dwell on it at all. However, due to an honesty curse, Charles and Hikaru -- both of them being ridiculous liars who bottle their true emotions -- were forced to admit how they feel about each other -- and that would be, "You're fun to hang out with." It was established, then, that, yes, they are friends ... somehow. And though Charles is incessantly annoyed and pestered by his two roommates' antics, he is definitely one of Hikaru's favourite people in the Disco, next to himself and his brother and Haruhi. He's just short enough for an arm rest, too.
