Just heard an uncomfirmed [UPDATE: it's confirmed] report on an indiepop listserv that Mana "China" Nishiura died in a car accident in Delaware today [UPDATE: turns out it was a few days ago -- see comments]. China was the drummer for Japanese cutecore heroes Shonen Knife. If true [UPDATE: it is], it's a really awful loss.
