leave a comment asking to be interviewed and i will ask you 5 questions that you can post the answers to in your own journal. and then you have to do the same. or whatever. i don't remember exactly how the instructions go. you know though.
1) Can you tell me about Charlie? How you got him, what he does for you, etc?
i got charlie from pet refuge.
brachypelmic was fostering him.
i trained him to accompany me wherever i go. he walks on the leash quietly, rides the city bus, goes to all manner of stores, rides in cars, does escalators and elevators, does revolving doors and turnstiles, potties on command, sleeps quietly in movie theaters, lies under the table in restaurants, and generally does anything else that may be required of him on a regular basis.
he helps me cope with anxiety, dissociation, and impulsive behaviors.
what most people don't know is that service dogs are not required by law to be licensed or certified. a service dog may be trained by a dog trainer, or can be trained by the owner if the owner is familiar with dog training. it is a federal offense to require any sort of papers from service dog handlers before granting them access to any facility. more interesting facts about service animal laws are here:

charlie does not go with me everywhere, every day. however, he is with me more often than not, and almost always when i go out alone.
2) Name a food item, condiment, or whatever that you have tried recently and enjoyed. Something you can buy for home use rather then something you got out.
i have really been getting into palak paneer lately, and several other indian vegetarian foods. i like going to indian buffets.
i would also like to go on an all-shrimp diet, but i don't think i can afford to. i just love cold shrimp with cocktail sauce, and i bet i would lose a lot of weight!
3) Do you see ever adding another species to your zoo? Which ones?
oh i'm sure i will. which ones mostly depends on whatever comes my way, though. being in the rescue business, i never have to go searching for adoptable animals! i would love to adopt a retired racing greyhound some day, but now is not a good time on account of all the kittens we foster. i don't know if we would have room for another large bird right now, but i would love to have more some day, especially more amazons.
4) What is your favorite type of underwear?
men's tighty whiteys... they are the only kind i wear :)
5) Can you show me a relatively current picture of one room of your house?
i realized that i don't have any pictures that show an entire room!
