okay, this is the house that is at the top of our list now. well, okay, it's the only one on our list, despite the scolding of
brachypelmic.
as a refresher,
this is the listing, with specs and a picture of the outside of the house.
this is the really funky one, you guys!
i met my newly enlisted real estate agent there this afternoon.
the pics were kinda hard to take because some of the hallways are fruity & narrow with lots of corners and nooks and crannies. but i did the best i could.
okay, in total there are 4 different entries/exits to the outside. i'm going to start at the entrance that looks like it is used the most... right off the kitchen/dining area.
so you go in the door under the carport, and to your left when you walk in is the dining room and full bath. in this first pic you can see part of the sunken entry way on the far left. then the dining room with dishwasher (included), and the window overlooks the backyard and garage. you can kinda see the extra space that's added on to the back of the garage too. on the wall to the right of the dining room, which you cannot see here, is the door to the full bath.
full bath. long & narrow, with a window overlooking the backyard. 3 frickin medicine cabinets and a vanity. not quite so excited about the pink here, but whatev. it's recently renovated. new floor, etc.
okay, back out of the bathroom. next to the dining area, moving further into the house, is the kitchen. newer fridge & stove included, garbage disposal, window looks out on driveway. ugly yellow paint has to go.
okay, so standing in the kitchen, turn left a little. thanks. i LOVE this brick wall, as out-of-place as it may be. new carpet needed.
there is a pantry/closet around the corner of the brick wall.
go through the brick archway and turn right. here is the living room. a little smalley, but that's okay because there's a family room too (or that might be a master bedroom). needs new carpet, but gets nice sunlight. windows overlook front & side yards.
okay, turn left. there is a sunroom on the front of the house, built right off the living room.
this picture is taken standing in the living room and looking out to the sunroom. note that the sunroom has its own entrance/exit to the outside as well.
inside the sun room. gorgeous, gorgeous, very open, lots of light! there is a ceiling fan as well. windows overlook front & side yards.
here is one more shot to show the awesome bay window that looks out on the front yard. notice the weird PVC fence. not sure how i feel about that.
okay, go back into the living room and turn right. this is the front bedroom. i didn't take many pics of it. weird/cute thing is that it has a window that opens up to the sunroom, due to the sunroom being an addition. this house has had so many additions that there are interior windows that look into other rooms! the other window in the front bedroom overlooks the former electrolysis salon! and i think i actually like this carpet, given that i'm not going to be living in this room :P
on the other side of that weird window is the salon. it has its own exit/entrance off the other side of the house. so cool! we figure it'd be good for litter boxes, as it has the door that you can barely see on the far left, and linoleum flooring. i hope they let us keep the chair! i'd put it in the living room ;)
also attached to the electro room is another small room that was used as a bedroom. i think it would be a good office or something. i would never punish anyone by making them have a bedroom that small. the carpet is a trip, very dark reds and blacks... the lady who lived there said she picked it out in the 70's when she was a teenager! the room is bigger than it looks in this pic, but it's so full of electrocuting gadgets that i couldn't back up any farther.
moving to the back of the house, there is a closet in the hallway with washer & dryer. they come with the house as well. nice to have laundry on the main floor.
the next door to the left of that pic is a little half bath. it's TINY, but good to have there as we would probably use the next room as a bedroom.
close the bathroom door and continue down the hall. this is what you see. the downstairs is garden level, and the upstairs is a half floor up. split level!
another shot of the cute mini-staircase!
the "upstairs" room was used as a family room, but we would probably use it as a bedroom. maybe. it's almost too huge to be a bedroom though. i dunno. the windows overlook the backyard.
turn to the left in this room and there are double sliders that go out onto a deck with stairs down to the backyard. you can also see the side of the garage in this pic.
okay, back out of this room, and let's go downstairs. there's a little bit of redecorating going on in this staircase.
on the ceiling above the staircase, i noticed what looks like a spot of water damage. the roof is in good shape though, so it might be from when they had the old roof. needs to be looked into though.
okay, proceeding downstairs. the room at the bottom of the stairs is another that could be used as a bedroom, family room, office, whatEVER. i like how there are so many versatile rooms in this house. fireplace that just needs an insert. windows at garden level, overlooking backyard.
the other side of the room. nice closet space.
nestled into a little nook between the big room and the bottom of the stairs is a michigan basement/crawlspace with TONS of storage room. i didn't bother taking pics down there, but it was nice to check it out again because we've had pretty heavy rain for several days now, and i was able to ease my mind as far as leaky basements go. anyway, it's through here. it could use a door :P
i didn't really get pics of the garage or backyard. the garage is 1car, pretty old and ugly, but structurally sound and has an automatic garage door opener. there is a porch/greenhouse/storage/hot tub type addition on the back of the garage. there is also a small pole barn/shed in the backyard. then there is MORE storage underneath the deck. it's kinda walled in, but i think i might just wanna rip that thing open cuz it looks kinda trashy. the yard is 90% fenced in and dog-ready. easily finished. one thing i don't like is that there is only 1 outdoor hose hookup thingie, and it's in the backyard. the front yard offers lots of fun opportunities for landscaping and planting, so maybe i can get another one of those water thingies in front somehow.
i know i'm getting WAY too attached to this house. and if it sells before i'm able to jump on it, i'll cry for YEARS.
but that's it. cross your fingers for me that our money will show up in time :)
