Beverly Leslie!!
Leslie Jordan (who plays Beverly leslie on Will and Grace as well as many other notable guest characters on TV shows) is doiung his one man show next door to the theater my show is at. I saw all 4'11 of him last night walking out of the space after his show. Giggle. He's so adorable.
As for the show, it's gotten nice reviews, but it's like pulling teeth to get people out to a Shakespeare history play. It's actually really funny and dramatic and exciting which I think may be unexpected. Some of us are doing a radio spot for the Chicago branch of NPR on Monday so maybe that will help. It has been a great lesson though. When you have a small house, you have to remind yourself to act your heart out nonetheless because you still owe that to yourself and the people who did come. We had small houses for the shows yesterday, but good thing everyone gave it their all, because we were told after the afternoon show that 2 reviewers were there. See? Good lesson. It's sad peple opt for going to the air and water show over theatre, but hey, perogatives are perogatives.
