ooo i would love to ask you about glasgow! i'm looking at doing an exchange programme there sept-dec and know nothing about the place. just the person i need.
ah cool! well i havent lived there permanently for a few years now.. which is a shame. but i do still know quite a lot of nice places. it's a fabulous city, and only on the up and up.. the people are unpretentious and creative, and always up for a good time. i'm sure you'll have a great time. How come Glasgow? xx
the uni of Glasgow has an Excellent film studies programme - it is the home of the Screen journal too. i've sent my application in to my dean, fingers crossed, it'll have to go to my exchange office for approval, then off to glasgow itself for approval. a long wait. what are the best parts to find a flat, live in that are near the uni campus? I've heard that the west end is fun and like my favourite district here in my city. o, and secondly - i don't drive, is the city easy to get around with public transport?
So i dont know that much about accommodation cause i never lived on my own in glasgow (after all it was always the nest i was returning to..) all i know is that flats there were much cheaper than the ones i let in oxford. (but that's not surprising)# to think about the people i know, they all let flats. But i just dont know anything about the student halls really... as for transport, yes, it's fine! there are plenty of trains, buses, and an underground. they are all fairly cheap, and run often! a lot of buses run through the night. the west end really is wicked. There are awesome shops (marvellous vintage places esp in a street called Otago Lane (ask about it!), cafes and bars in ashton lane.. and wee bookshops and well, everything. parks and museums! uh, i dunno what else.. if you have any other questions, don't hesitate to ask! xx
