I've chosen the writing mini-bang! Here are my entries:
1. Six Word Story
Emma found her home in Storybrooke.
2. Title: The Darkest Curse
Challenge: Poem
Characters: The Evil Queen
Rating: G
Darkness is pure. Darkness is true. Darkness is life.
It is the only comfort I have.
No Prince Charmings or happy endings for me.
Only death and destruction fill my dreams and feed my nightmares.
Why do I continue when I know I’ll never satisfy my need?
To end her life with my hands?
It will not happen for me in this lifetime or the next or the next.
Not now.
She is free and loved.
I am chained and forsaken.
Again.
In casting my curse I have cursed only one.
It remains unbroken still.
Title: Another Day At the Diner
Challenge: Drabble
Characters: Regina/Robin, Belle
Rating: T
Warnings: none
Regina’s hand clenched when she saw them.
Lately she’d turned herself in knots with worry. Worried about what Robin might hear about her and the horrific things she’d done.
He sat talking to Belle.
Regina took a deep breath and went over.
“Belle and I were just remembering when she saved my life.” Robin said moving over.
Belle looked smugly at her.
“I’d love to hear it.” Regina sat beside him.
“Of course,” Robin gave Regina a peck on the cheek. “Regina saved me too.”
Belle watched the Evil Queen blush. “She did?”
Robin smiled, “Yes, she saved my heart.”
Title: Hearts and Fears
Challenge: Ficlet 497 words
Pairing: Robin Hood/Evil Queen
Rating: T
Warnings: none
The Queen needed to do it before she lost her nerve.
Fear.
It was something she rarely felt. She knew she shouldn’t do it, but her dark instinct was so strong it overpowered any normal thought.
Control.
He had the tattoo and it had to be dealt with. She’d lost control and she couldn’t have that. No, the thief couldn’t have that kind of power over her.
Robin showed up, his easy going smile and twinkling blue eyes looking at her like she was the only woman in the land.
Focus Regina.
“Hello,” he came closer.
Do it.
“I need something from you.” She said sweetly as she plunged her hand into his chest searching for his heart. It would be hers. She felt her breath quicken, her blood rise and her fear abate ever so slightly.
Until she looked into his eyes.
Shock.
Anguish.
Pain.
Disappointment.
Everything all at once.
She plucked out his heart in one move and he fell at her feet.
“Papa!!” Roland screamed.
What?
In her haste to complete her task she failed to notice the young boy close on the heels of his father. She quickly waved her hand and the young face was frozen in a look of terror.
Robin was still lying at her feet clutching his chest. He turned his face away, closed his eyes and was still.
I’ve killed him.
This was not going as planned. Regina quickly knelt and returned his still beating heart into place. She released Roland who threw himself into his father’s chest.
“It’s alright my boy.” Robin mumbled as he came back to consciousness.
Regina cringed and turned away to hide her face.
Her shame.
What have I done?
Robin continued to soothe his son’s anxiety, “See,” he patted his chest. “No damage done. The Queen was just…” He looked up at Regina who wouldn’t look at him. He stood and picked up Roland with him. “…playing a game. That’s all.”
Regina knew he would leave her for sure now. The job was done either way.
“Maybe the Queen would make a treat to make you feel better. Chocolate ice cream perhaps?”
Regina shakily waved her hand. A dish full of the finest chocolate ice cream appeared on her table and Roland happily licked his lips as he took a seat.
“Are you okay?” Robin looked at her.
She shook her head and bit her lip.
He pressed her hand to his chest. “Is this what you want? Is this all we have?”
“No,” she whispered.
He smiled gently, “I know who you were. I know who you are. I know the things you’ve done but they don’t have to be your future.”
“I don’t know if I can change.” Her voice cracked in distress.
He couldn’t help himself. He pulled her to him crushing her against his body, her head pressing against his chest to hear his heart clearly beating strongly for her. “You just did Regina. You just did.”
Title: Not So Easy This Time
Challenge: Three Sentence Story
Rating: T
Warnings: none
The dagger was a fake just like her marriage.
Belle’s heart was frozen and with it any love she felt for Rumpelstiltskin.
He’d need more than magic and lies to prove his love for her this time.
Title: My Dad
Challenge: Journal Entry
Character: Henry Mills
Rating: T
Warnings: Spoiler for Season 3
I pretended it was okay, but I wanted to scream at the top of my lungs.
I just agreed and told her I understood, but I wanted answers. Why didn’t she tell me about my Dad? I didn’t even get the chance to talk to him. It would’ve been nice for whatever time we had left.
I had many questions. His favourite colour? Favourite food? Was he a Yankees or a Mets fan? Had he thought about me the years we were apart? I wasn’t even sure my mom knew these things. Now he was gone and so were my chances to get to know him.
I wasn’t sure I liked it here in Storybrooke; if that was even its real name? I wish we’d stayed in New York. I felt it had taken something from me that I didn’t even know I had.
My mom was dealing with a lot. She hadn’t been herself since we came here. I wanted to help her, but she was afraid to tell me what was really going on.
I wondered what other secrets she was hiding. What everyone in this town was hiding? Even the mayor was strange. The way she looked at me; it was like we’d known each other long ago, but I couldn’t quite remember when. It was as if she had something to say to me, but didn’t know how to say it.
I wish I’d known him. His name was Neal and I was his son.
Henry.
