You know, I hadn't thought of it that way, but yeah, I think he helps to show some of them how far they're willing to go for whatever it is they want. I'm glad you enjoyed the fic! :)

very true (about showing them how far)...though it begs the question: when Rumplestiltskin wants something, who does he go to? (or at least, who does Gold go to?)
