harinezumi_kun :: masterlist

Arashi fandom; I kind of missed the boat on this meme last time, so I'd love to hear what people have to say!

I love your mind. You have some very very interesting ideas that I haven't seen in any other writer or fandom so far. But I think you sometimes start writing a fic without knowing how to end it and that shows. I usually love your drabbles and your one-shots but you dropped one multi chapter and the ending of soulxsoul was not as awesomely wonderful as the beginning. It was still pretty good but something was lacking. With drabbles and one-shots you often give a sort of open ending where the reader is meant to assume something that lies beyond what you've written (and you are very good at that). But sometimes you need to bring stories to a close and give your characters a proper motivation for their actions. Apart from that you are near perfect in my eyes.

Sorry for the lateness of this reply! And thank you so much for your comment, and feedback!

You really hit the nail on the head, too, and I think that is one of my biggest failings as a writer - starting things without a clear idea of where they are going. SoulxSoul definitely suffered from that, and a lot of the time I just want to go back and rewrite great big chunks of it. Endings in general, wrapping things up, is definitely something I have trouble with. But I hope I can keep working on it and improve as I go.

Thank you again, so much, for your thoughts!

I love your works and you are without a doubt one of my favorite writers here in the fandom.
The only series I read among yours is SoulxSoul and I loved the beginning and I read it in one go till the end. For me it's perfect. You managed to create a very interesting universe and I've loved the sci-fi vibe of it.
I also love your one-shots even if sometime they lack of consistency. I've had this feeling, while reading them, that something was missing.. but this is probably because you leave the reader with something to think about or some sort of an open ending. And loving this or not it's only a matter of taste, and it has nothing to do with your ability as a writer.
Anyway, I hope you'll keep writing beautiful stories as you did so far. I love your imagination, most of all.

Sorry this reply is late, and thank you for taking the time to comment here and leave your thoughts!

First, thank you so much your kind words about SoulxSoul! It was a real adventure to write, and it always makes me happy to hear that people enjoyed it :) Second, as I said to the commenter above, endings are a big weak point of mine - it's good for me to hear how this comes across to my readers, and I'm hoping I can improve this in the future.

Thank you again - I really appreciate the feedback!

The moment I see a new Ohmiya fic written by you...

.....I make inhuman sounds.

Because of your icon, I'm imagining Nino making inhuman sounds now. It's pretty great XD

And thank you! ♥

You should write more of the wingfic! I don't really have any criticism on your writing, I love it :) I wish you'd write more longer fic (like Arashibana ♥), you have good ideas for plots and sometimes the drabbles feel like you're wasting your talent.

Thank you! I'm really hoping to get more work done on Wings as soon as possible! Longer fic is something I do love to write, but I'm finding recently that it's difficult to find the time to work on it as much as I'd like :(

But thank you for your comment!

We don't share the same pairing interests, so I've mostly only poked around when you've written things like Yama Pair and Junba etc. So I guess I'm encouraging you to continue exploring new pairings because I really enjoy the simplicity of your writing style.

Thank you for your feedback! I'm hoping to branch out more as I continue writing fic - I'm participating in the rainbowfilling community as well, so that should help :D

I've only read (and thoroughly enjoyed) one of your fics, Foundations, and these lines left a strong impression:

He should turn around, go back in, try and convince Jun that they can make this work. But he can’t.

Because, now that the shock has worn off, what he feels more than anything is just…relief.

Felt so real to me.

Thank you so much! I'm glad you enjoyed it - that was a really challenging fic for me, and my only time writing that pairing, so it's heartening to know I managed it all right :)

I found your work through the Nino Exchange, because The Gravity of You definitely stands out from that list of wonderful works. I read the entirety of your masterlist since then - and well, to be honest I still like The Gravity of You best and think none of the others quite beat it. I really did like Cafe Ole and Wingfic, they had a lot of descriptions that sort of remained in my heart and drew a vivid image of the world in my mind (unfortunately much more than your other drabbles that are not AU), but maybe it's just that I'm a SF/Fantasy/AU nut, those were the ones that I think really show your creativity. I really liked the Peppermint bit, Nino's reaction to them were really beatiful and how they sort of represent Nino and Ohno's relationship really blew me away. The idea of Ohno searching for some sort of 'freedom' and how Nino just can't let himself get away from his home planet - I loved it ( ... )

First, sorry for the lateness of this reply! Second, thank you so so much for taking the time to give me your comments and feedback!

And you really nailed me, here: I am also an SF/Fantasy nut in RL, and those kind of AUs are really what get me going, when I have the time to invest in them. And I agree that the first chapter of SoulxSoul was where a lot of the potential was - it could have gone so many different ways, and I was a bit desperate to finish it by the time I got to the end. I would LOVE to hear about the endings you wrote in your head, though! :D I'm also flattered and happy to hear how much you liked The Gravity of You, because it was one of my personal favorites to write.

I think I said this in one of the above comments as well, but Wings is next on the list of unfinished things I want to tackle. I'm hoping to get more posted ASAP, although I would also like to get the whole thing finished before I start posting, so I'm not sure how soon ASAP will be XD;;

And I confess I am wildly curious to know who you are! But if ( ... )
